Friedrich Wilhelm, Elector of Brandenburg, Duke of Prussia, known as The Great Elector, was born on February 16, 1620. He was the son of Georg Wilhelm von Brandenburg and Elisabeth Charlotte von der Pfalz. He died on May 9, 1688.
