Here is everything you need to know about Act 2 of A Rift In Time and the new, free content update.
Disney Dreamlight Valley is getting a new, major update on May 1, 2024, which will not only include Act two of the expansion pass but also free content for the base game. Additionally, the new season of the Star Path will be introduced.
In the update, we can look forward to new items, characters, and a new building. Furthermore, with the upcoming Star Path, we'll also receive many never before seen accessories and objects.
The Thrills & Frills Update
The new update will bring a lot of content to the Valley. And it's not just players with the expansion pass who can celebrate! There's plenty of new content coming for the base game as well.
Adjustments to the Multiplayer Mode
With Vanellope, we got the multiplayer mode and have since been able to spend time in our Valleys with our friends. Thanks to the new update, we can now use our exclusive items like the camera, the fishing rod or the pickaxe in other Valleys and even on Eternity Isle. So get ready to experience even more adventures together.
Valley Mails
So far, we've only received emails from the developers themselves, but from now on, we'll also receive messages from the villagers of our Valley. So, make sure to check your mailbox regularly!
The New Visitor
Soon, we will welcome a new visitor in the base game. Many players had already speculated, based on the published content roadmap, that Daisy Duck would come to the Valley with this update. And these speculations have been confirmed! Finally, we have the pleasure of welcoming the Fashion Queen to our Valley. New Friendship Quests await us, in which we assist Daisy reigniting past relationships. In return, we can look forward to discovering unique new items.
With Daisy comes a new building in the Valley, the Boutique. There, we have the chance to design and showcase our own Touch of Magic creations, including clothing and furniture. You can also collect and wear designs from other players, during Valley Visits! In addition, we can expect weekly design tasks, where we help Daisy renovating the Boutique, giving us the chance to earn exclusive items such as Touch of Magic clothing and furniture bases.
Camera Optimization
Many players have wished that pictures can also be taken in rides. The developers have taken this to heart and optimized the camera accordingly. Now you can take souvenir photos of your fun experience in all existing and future rides. Additionally, they have restored the old camera functionality, so you can use both, the Furniture Mode and the classic mode.
Star Path
The Valley brings the amusement park directly to our homes with the new Star Path theme 'A Day At Disney'. We can look forward to many exciting attractions inspired by the Disney Park, including the Peppy Popcorn Squirrel and Dream Styles for Daisy Duck and Minnie Mouse. The attractions from the last Star Path will also be available again.
And the best part: With the new camera function, you can take many great photos alone or with your friends in the new rides. If you're sensitive to motion, you can also switch to Selfie Mode.
The Spark Of Imagination
With the new update, we get the second act of A Rift In Time, 'The Spark of Imagination'. In this chapter, we'll encounter thrilling challenges, intricate puzzles, and an expansion of the storyline.
Royal Hourglass
With the new update, we can upgrade the Hourglass to level 4, unlocking the following improvements:
- New Ancient Parts
- New furniture items to craft at the Time Bending Station
- New Fragments and their associated furniture items, including Disney and Pixar’s Ratatouille’s Metro Entrance
- Take control of the new Dismantle and Upcycle features at the Time Bending Station to transform old Ancient Parts, Fragments, Gifts, and Ancient Cores into currency
A New (And Very Energetic) Visitor
In the teaser, we could already see that we will get a new visitor on Eternity Isle. In the ancient ruins, we not only find exciting puzzles and new adventures but also the funny rabbit Oswald. With him, we dive into a time when black-and-white movies were normal and experience the progress of the film industry up close.
Since the character comes from a different time, the developers have come up with somethin
g very special for Oswald. When he interacts with his surroundings, it turns black and white. So get ready for some animals on Eternity Isle to look a bit paler than usual soon.
Smaller Adjustments
We're also getting some QoL changes and changes to the shop:
- Now you can increase the text size on Nintendo Switch
- A wide range of new, weekly DreamSnaps challenges
Premium Shop Changes:
- Weekly shop rotations include 8 bundles / items
- Preview clothing on your Avatar before buying
- Items can be rotated for a better all-around view
- Toggle between day and night to view the items based on the time of day
Additionally, several bugs were fixed to enhance the player experience.
