Nice job on players in the 76 roster. I see what you did with putting Milw In the Toronto Slot, Minn in the Seattle slot, Astros in Colorado slot to get it as close as possible to games played in your division good idea.[quote=OldBaseballFan;2050160055]

Armor and Sword,

Per the instructions on the first post of this thread, I'd like to offer up three seasons for inclusion on the "MLB 20 Classic Season Rosters" list.

My PSN is rtg444, and the three seasons are 1951, 1966, and 1976.

All three seasons are RBU rated, with pitch types based on Neyer/James where applicable. The rosters are meant to be 40 man. (I tried to use Triple A minor leaguers who didn't reach the majors to fill out 40 man rosters when needed.) I did go deeper than 40 men (albeit with lower ratings) in the 1976 season, since there are so many more future players readily available. I've also included a very limited number of free agents----mostly recent retirees.

I think the equipment for each season is close. This includes helmet flaps. 1951 should have no flaps. 1966 should only have a few flaps, primarily on pitchers. (I won't swear to this. It seems that every game I play, I find another helmet flap that I missed.)

For the age-old debate on what to do with the extra teams, I have always liked to fill those teams with 1-rated players. To mitigate the impact (other than inflating statistics) of these 1-rated teams, I have placed the real teams into certain division slots. The result is that the real teams, especially in each division, play the same (or very close to the same) number of real games based on the original 2020 schedule. (The added benefit of this is that I play a shortened MLB season, which fits my personal schedule better.)

I've been using this method for years, but the ability to actually rebrand has really increased my enjoyment. For the teams that might need rebranding, I have renamed an A Leaguer with the rebranding suggestion.

I realize not everyone is going to like my method, but maybe, as one person mentioned, others might use the rosters for single games and/or playoffs. Or maybe they can harvest some players. I did make some physical appearance edits on players I harvested from other/better roster makers. (Hopefully my edits "advanced the runner".)

Speaking of roster makers, I relied heavily on the great works of JTommy67, TravMan1220, PJSnell, Fcf250, epdmd, biebig2010, and stecropper.

Finally, I am in the very, very, very early stages of making the 1981 and 1988 seasons. (Unfortunately, it may be a couple of months or more before I can really concentrate on these rosters.)

I hope this provides the introductory information and project framework.

Down to the Rangers to finish up my 1973 set, hopefully they will be in the vault tomorrow. When finished Ill post it here with everything listed.

PJ,

Will the teams be in their usual slots as opposed to moved to other franchises for rebranding?

If you move Milwaukee to Toronto spot
Houston to Arizona
Minnesota to Seattle
You now have 4 teams in each division for better competitive balance

Of note... I found you need to move teams to another team spot with similar weather because the weather doesn't change with the rebranding.

Example... I move Yankees to marlins spot and rebranded as Yankees. Opening day weather was 92 degrees

So its pretty cool seeing how the Stars have wound up on Different Teams through trades and free agency. The Yankees have won Once Mets lost a world series. Fun having Degrom Seaver Koosman and Syndergard in the same rotation! It's still a good game with a lot of room for improvement. Enjoy brother!

I only play with current rosters in March To October. Right now I'm having a blast with All Time Rosters in Franchise. I'm using a roster that has the minor leagues filled to with All Time players and they get called up and sent down giving me a new player to see every once in a while. I can also see me playing consecutive seasons as whoever retires, a fresh all time player is ready to step in. I turned off Trades.

Re: List of Classic Seasons & Historical Specialty Rosters MLB The Show

Ive got Texas as Texas and Toronto
Cleveland as Cleveland and Seattle
Milwaukee in Houston
Philadelphia as Philadelphia and Florida
Houston as Milwaukee rebranded and Houston in the Rockies spot
San Diego as San Diego and Arizona
White Sox as Chicago and Tampa Bay

I just started a season and rebranded Oakland, Houston as Milwaukee, Washington as Montreal, Milwaukee (Astros) as a fantasy team, Pittsburgh, Rockies as Houston, San Diego, and Cleveland. Most of those were just for custom uniforms that werent in the game.

This is the first season Ive done with imported uniforms, and having this option is pretty cool. Im thinking about putting an early 70s soundtrack in as well. Lot of fantastic logos in the vault.

I had to tweak the rosters a bit, but they are done and in the vault.

You can only rebrand if you play a franchise correct? Can't do it for Exhibition?
