Station / Airport guide
Frankfurt Airport is the fourth busiest airport in Europe and the busiest in Germany. It also boasts the largest airport train station in Germany with over 200 long-distance trains serving it, making it ideal as a starting point for your German holiday if you are travelling onwards by rail. There are two terminals, adjoined by a Skyline monorail system. It takes 12 mins to travel by train from the Airport to Frankfurt-am-Main main station. The best route into the city centre is to take the local S-bahn (lines S8 and S9).
Passengers can enjoy free wifi at Frankfurt Airport.
Transport and connections
Frankfurt Airport train station is located at Terminal 1 and offers high-speed ICE train connections to major cities like Cologne, Stuttgart, Bonn and more.
For long-distance trains follow signs for the Fernbahnhof. Otherwise, follow signs for Regionalbahnhof, the station for regional trains. Both are in Terminal 1. There are also taxi stands located in front of the arrivals halls of both airport terminals. Travel time by taxi is about 20-45 mins, depending on time of day and traffic.
