Cullen McCarty, a four-year member of the football squad at Assumption University, was named the Fordham football volunteer defensive quality control coach in the spring of 2022.

McCarty will be charged with assisting the Ram coaches with game day preparation, including video breakdowns of upcoming opponents.

A 2020 graduate of Assumption, McCarty was a four-year letter winner with the Greyhounds football team. Following graduation, he served as an intern with the Assumption program in the spring of 2021.

A three-sport athlete at York High School in York, Maine (football, basketball, and track), McCarty was a two-time all-conference selection in football. He then spent a year at Worcester Academy where he continued to all three sports, earning All-New England and all-conference accolades in football.

McCarty’s father, Peter, played football at UMass and was an assistant coach at Fordham from 2012-2013.
