Sad news for those who were anxiously following the plot of The Flight Attendant — the season 2 finale of the hit HBO Max show aired in 2022 and it's been radio silent ever since. This hits harder because folks were left on the edge of our (airline) seats throughout the majority of the second season.

Unsurprisingly, viewers aren't the only ones praising the dramedy. At the 2022 Emmy Awards, Kaley Cuoco was for Best Actress is a Comedy Series, where she went up against Marvelous Mrs. Maisel star Rachel Brosnahan and Abbott Elementary lead Quinta Brunson.

More than a year after the last episode, there are many unanswered thoughts. What's going to happen to Cassie (Kaley Cuoco), now that it's revealed that her one year of sobriety has been a complete lie? Will Davey (T.R. Knight) be safe once again after being kidnapped by a former member of Cassie's AA meetings? What about Grace's (Mae Martin) true intentions after Cassie discovers she's been working for CIA regional director Dot (Cheryl Hines)? Will Annie (Zosia Mamet) and Max (Deniz Akdeniz) receive their happy ending, despite finally tying the knot at the end of the season? And perhaps the most important question of all: Is Cassie going to let her mind palace consume her and her seemingly multiple personalities?

We know we just asked a lot of questions and it's only fair that Max allows us the chance to have them answered in a season 3 ... right? Well, we first need to find out if that's even a possibility.

Is The Flight Attendant coming back for season 3?

Unfortunately, we're not too sure about this one. In an interview with People in May 2022, The Big Bang Theory alum Kaley Cuoco seemed a bit on the fence about making a season 3 of The Flight Attendant, to the point of saying that there are no new plans to continue Cassie's story.

"I'm like, 'Well, we did two. We should probably be done.' And I think I've been outnumbered with that thought," she told the outlet at the time. "There's definitely interest in doing a third season. I think for me, at this moment, the plane has landed."

Despite this, Kaley's not ruling out returning to HBO Max for a new season. According to the actress, she wants to make sure the fans will be on board if and when the time comes.

"I think I need a minute. I just kind of feel like we just ended," Kaley told the magazine. "Some of my favorite shows on TV take some time to come back, and then I get very excited about a new season. I want to make sure that the fans are excited and that we're not pushing it too hard."

Do we have any clues about if The Flight Attendant season 3 will return?

Presently, we don't know if the show is coming back. But if we do get new episodes on Max, Kaley has some ideas for where Cassie's journey will go. Aside from wanting to take things to more exotic places, she told People how she wants to highlight Cassie's journey to sobriety.

"That is what her life is truly about and those are her struggles, but I don't know," she told the publication. "I think it's going to take us a minute to figure out what that would look like."

Kaley's not the only one who's into this idea. Executive producers Steve Yockey and Natalie Chaidez spoke to TVLine about their hopes for a season 3, which aligns with Kaley's thoughts for Cassie.

"Our plan was always that with each additional season, we would do a new standalone case that would have a beginning, middle and an end that would bring our characters back in some unexpected way, trapped in a new sort of weird international mystery," Steve told the outlet. "The big question is always what’s Cassie’s emotional story. If we can figure out what that is, then we’d be happy to do a season 3."
