QuestionPurchased an LG 49Nan085 tv today. We could not get the picture to be the right contrast. We tried the different modes and decided Vibrant was the best but still the picture was very dark. Are there other settings for color brightness

- Answer There is an energy saving mode that is active out of the box. You have to go into setting and turn it off otherwise it will dim and crush image quality.

QuestionCan I turn off local dimming and use traditional edge dimming? I own an LG OLED TV after having gone through a bunch of local dimming LCD (LED) TV's that looked horrible with local dimming. I don't want to spend much on a TV for my den.

- Answer You can turn off local dimming and just use the display as normal. There doesn’t appear to be global dimming on the LG outside of the APS mode which semi-adjust picture for your environment.

- Answer The panel is native 120hz, so up to 4K/120hz with a HDMI 2.1 source Nvidia 30 series cards or AMD 6000 series cards. Pixel response time is around 5ms and input lag is around 16ms and with Freesync/g-sync is around 6ms.

Press Settings > Advanced Settings > Picture > Picture Mode Settings > Picture Options then scroll down to TruMotion where you will find the De-Judder and De-Blur settings...^IFV

If you want to record TV programs, you will need a DVR that you can record on and connect it to the TV so you can watch recorded programs from it through the TV.
