Stuttgart is home to the world's very first television tower & Fernsehturm is definitely worth a visit. Located on a hill in the suburb of Degerloch, it is made of reinforced concrete, came into operation after a construction period of only 20 months, & is one of the city's most famous landmarks - an aesthetic & architectural gem. At the time it was one of the world's highest buildings & is the forerunner of other towers from Toronto to Tokyo.
The tower's two observation platforms at 150 & 153 metres above ground level provide the most spectacular, unequalled & panoramic views in the region - you can see the city environs of Stuttgart & the Neckar valley, & over the countryside as far as the Swabian Alb & the Black Forest.
In the Panorama Café at a height of 147 metres you can savour the views while enjoying coffee & cake, snacks & a wide selection of beverages.
Hope for a clear day and enjoy the view!!! An unforgettable occasion.
