We love Farmstead! Always easy to book a tee time and we love that it is a public course. Resteraunt with full menu and small outside stand for a quick bite, both with outdoor seating. Very clean, efficient, and well maintained. The golf carts are always clean as well. Really beautiful early morning views on the lake side. Large pro shop with clothes, balls, tees etc. if you forget something. We saw very little bugs or bees in the middle of a summer day as well. We will be visiting as often as we can. Thanks for a fun day!

I live not too far from Farmstead and play here fairly frequently. While it is pretty course with some challenging holes, it can often be a mixed bag due to VERY BAD course management by the staff. The course has 3 nines and an 18 hole round comprises 2 of the 3 nines. The names of the 3 nines are Lakeview, Club View and Valleyview. Valleyview is the shortest of the three.

On any given day, but especially on weekends, there can often be backups as foursomes make the turn after their respective front nine (regardless of which 9 they play first). Despite the turn between the 3 nines being in direct view of the starter(s), they do absolutely nothing to control the pace of play. Once out on the course you will see the cart girl with refreshments, but you will almost never see a Ranger whose main function is to regulate the pace of play. And if you do and ask him to tell the people ahead to play faster, he will tell you "They are keeping up with everyone else." You can rest assured that his comment is a bald faced, non-caring LIE.

Another thing to be aware of is that Farmstead, like many other public courses has adopted "DYNAMIC PRICING" which means there are NO set prices for a round plus cart. The prices fluctuate by time of day and anticipated demand and early tee times, even during the week are ABSURDLY and OBSCENELY overpriced for what this track is.

My golf partner and I tend to play at or around 4 PM because that is when the prices are lowest. Unfortunately, especially during summer months, that's when the course gets and stays crowded because we have daylight longer.

I play at Farmstead because it is convenient and late in the day more reasonable than it is earlier in the day. However, course management and an UNCARING staff means this course will NEVER rise to the storied heights of a great experience. It is at best, an AVERAGE public track with a management and staff that knows they have a captive audience and don't really have to provide too much care to retain their customer base.

In short, Farmstead is an average round of golf and nothing worth writing home about.

The venue's website claims it can accommodate 180 guests. The wedding I attended had roughly that amount. The cocktail hour was the equivalent of a mosh pit-there was nowhere to move. My husband was surprised the fire code allowed this many people in this sized room. They were only a couple tables with seats setup and a couple hightop tables with no seating. The food at the cocktail hour was nothing to write home about either. Also, the reception itself was very cramped with this number of people in the main room. The setup allowed very little elbow room while eating as well. The food at the reception was very poor overall. The pasta appetizer was cold, my chicken entree was cold and dry and the cake was barely edible. The dance floor itself was not very ample for a large wedding. This might be a good venue for a small sized wedding (less than 100) but for Farmstead to advertise they can hold 180 guests is a misleading.

We celebrated Mothers’ Day with a banquet of delicious 🤤. It was a beautiful sunny day. Parking was difficult due to the number of golfers and people celebrating the holiday.

Food was made fresh with carving stations and staff keeping the food stocked. All of meat 🍖 was fantastic from the roast beef to the large shrimp 🍤. The breakfast dishes were divine from the French toast to the all the egg dishes. Bacon 🥓 was phenomenal. Service was excellent. This will be a great place for any event.

Anyone looking to playing golf in 4 plus hours should NEVER go to Farmstead. This used to be one of my favorite courses but on Sunday, August 5 2018 we played 15 holes in 4 and one half hours and for the first time in my life I walked off of a golf course before completing 18 holes. Very disappointed and the staff inside seemed not to care. Don't go if you're looking to get into a flow. We waited after almost every single shot. Play elsewhere if you want to move along at a reasonable pace

This is indeed a golf club, but I was there for a wedding. The staff was fantastic, and did a great job in producing a lovely ceremony. The backdrop was gorgeous. The event was held on a peninsula jutting out into one of the lakes just a short walk from the main building. Golf carts were on the ready for transport to and fro. Organization and attention were top notch.
The reception was also brilliant. The staff continued their performance providing for a seamless transition and wonderful evening. Food was delicious.
If you are considering a wedding and you are in the Northern Jersey catchment area I would very highly recommend this locale.
