My earlier article, “Famous Quotes About Vietnam and War” was well received and generated a ton of interest. As a result, I’ve published this new blog with 34 additional “Quotes on pictures” – some are anonymous, but all are statements we’ve heard at one time or another while in Vietnam. Like I did before, the quotes were cherry-picked from the website “BrainyQuote dot com” – most are from famous people referencing war – especially the Vietnam War. Using a photo editor, I created a backdrop for each of these special quotations and posted them below in no specific order. Most pictures are from Facebook and the internet – a couple include my mug and are from my personal collection. Feel free to copy and paste any of them to your personal directory. I hope you enjoy them! Let me know if you have a favorite…
Thank you for taking the time to view these slides! Don’t miss out on the many articles, pictures and videos available to you on this website (see below). To view the first posting with 30 additional quotes on pictures – click HERE

Cool! I remember some of these, enjoy reading these articles.

Wow, these quotes are awesome. Thank you very much for your research and time. I was with the 3/187th Inf Bn, 101st Airborne. Every picture rekindled memories I continue to waste my energy on trying to forget. One never forgets the horrors of war. Thank you again.

That quote by “the meanest SOB in the valley” is not anonymous; Author unknown might be more accurate. I know the story behind the quote, but it may be apocryphal: A ranking general in Saigon refused to stay behind his desk; instead he flew O1E “birddogs” over the battlefield. He dropped grenades placed in squat glass jars so the handle wouldn’t fly till it hit the ground & broke. He also dropped cards with that quote. I believe his name was Richard Stillwell, son of “Vinegar Joe”. Some attribute it to Patton.

John I am 2/3 of the way through reading your book Cherries. Let me say you are one heck of a writer. I haven’t hardly been able to put the book down but I did want to pause and tell you THANK YOU. It is much appreciated. The book has brought out so many memories and I am grateful. The young man Zeke reminds me so much of my story except I was so much more lucky. It appears our time there was close to the same period, Early April 1970 until March 1971. John your ability to write is truly awesome and with that may I suggest or request that you consider writing another book or two.I will try and follow up when I am finished but I did want you to know how much I am enjoying the book.
