CONFIRMED: Turnpike Troubadours Are BACK

IT’S HAPPENING.

Last week, the Turnpike Troubadours set the internet on fire when they revealed a “Coming Soon” home page on their website. They also wiped their Instagram clean and made their Twitter account private.

The move appeared to be much more significant than routine website maintenance, and led fans to believe that the return of Turnpike Troubadours is imminent.

Of course, the band went on hiatus in 2019 after it became clear that frontman Evan Felker was battling some personal demons, including some well-documented issues with substance abuse.

Evan is now sober, happier and healthier than ever, and fiddle player Kyle Nix confessed this past summer that he’s now sober as well. When RC Edwards and Hank Early appeared on our podcast, Whiskey Riff Raff, they hinted that the band would most likely reunite someday.

Fans also began speculating that the return would happen on December 4 at Cain’s Ballroom.

RC Edwards’ solo project, RC & The Ambers, is set to perform that night AND so is Kyle Nix’s band, Kyle Nix & The 38s. RC & The Ambers shared an Instagram post with a similar graphic to the one on the Turnpike website:

Oh, and their December 4th date, the Cain’s show, is in all caps and says “w/” without saying who the “w/” is.

It’s left the rumor mill churning for days, with all kinds of speculation and rumors that the whole band might just be getting back together.

Well now it looks like we have our confirmation: TURNPIKE IS COMING BACK.

The band just dropped a pic of the whole gang back together – including Evan Felker – on all of their socials.

And while they didn’t give us any hint when or where the return would happen, I have a feeling that tickets to Cain’s Ballroom for this Saturday are about to get REAL hard to come by.

UPDATE: Kyle Nix has since confirmed that the Cain’s show will be a “Kyle Nix & The 38’s/RC & The Ambers” show, not a Turnpike reunion.

But even if we don’t know for sure exactly when it’s going to happen, one thing is clear: Turnpike is BACK.

GOOD LORD LORRIE. Now THAT’S how you start off a Monday morning.
