Interesting palace because Martin Luther stayed in it for 10 months translating the New Testament to German so common people understood the Bible. There are a lot of steps to get in as it is located in a steep mountain. English tour only at 1:30pm (we arrived at 10:30 am then we had to take the German tour which we didn’t understand…it was a shame because the castle is very pretty).Parking is $5 Euros. Family entrance $29 euros. The guide tour was kind explaining few things to us but his tour was in German. We recommend it.

Loved this walk through a gorge that just becomes slimmer and slimmer so in the end you can barely pass. You have water running under your feet and moss covered rock walls on each side and it is really special. We walked back and forth and loved it.

Be sure to spend time upstairs if you are more interested in the music than in life in his time. And don't miss the little concert!

Automobile Welt Eisenach is a car museum located in the old East German town of Eisenach adjacent to the banks of the Hörsel river. It is situated on the old Automobilwerk Eisenach factory site, one of the world's oldest, and opened as a museum in the year 2005 utilizing building O2 from the year 1936. This is a museum for “Car Lovers” or “Petrol Heads” like me. This is a journey back into time, there is allot to see, I cannot put enough pictures to show it.

The Lutherhaus on the “Lutherplatz” in Eisenach and is one of the oldest surviving half-timbered houses in Thuringia. According to tradition, Martin Luther lived here with the Cotta family during his school days from the year 1498 to the year 1501. It is a nice looking house and worth a visth.

Even if this Scenic view is not that famous, it is definitely worth a visit. Can be compared when you walk up to the castle with a 10-15 min detour. Different ways up to the rock, the most direct includes a very little of climbing. Unfortunately there is meanwhile some waste around this place.

The “Georgenkirche” is located on the market place and is also the main church in the center of Eisenach. Martin Luther preached here during the reformation he started, making this church one of the oldest Protestant houses of worship. Johann Sebastian Bach was baptized in this church. It was the episcopal church of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Thuringia.

The half-timbered house at Johannisplatz 9 in Eisenach, known as the "Schmales Haus von Eisenach" or "Handtuch" (towel house), is one of the narrowest and smallest inhabited houses in Germany. It is only 2.05 m wide and has a floor area of 20 m². A height of 8.50 m gives the building at least two floors. The exact year of construction of the narrow house is unknown, but the age is estimated at around 250 years.

The marketplace in Eisenach is quite large, and it has, among other things, the town hall, the council cellar, the house of tourism, the Georges fountain, the Georges church, the town castle, etc., really a place that is worth a visit.
