<p>Edward (Ed or Eddie) Howard Seymour, 68, passed away on June 29th, 2023.</p><p><br></p><p>Ed was born June 29th, 1955 in Louisville, Kentucky to the late Kenneth and Edna Seymour. Ed graduated from Valley High School, where he met the love of his life, Janice. Ed is survived by his wife, Janice L. Seymour, of Catlettsburg, KY. This year, they celebrated 50 wonderful years of marriage.</p><p><br></p><p>After becoming a Certified Journeyman Electrician, Ed started his railroad career at the L&amp;N South Louisville Shops in 1978. Ed and his family later transferred to the CSX Huntington Locomotive Shop, where for over 22 years he held many positions, his last being Shift Superintendent. In 2011, Ed moved to the CSX Russell Locomotive Facility, and retired on June 30th, 2015 as an Assistant Plant Superintendent. Ed loved his railroad family, and cherished all the friendships and memories made throughout his career in the Louisville, Huntington, and Russell Shops.</p><p><br></p><p>Ed was an active and devoted member of Bridges Christian Church in Russell, Kentucky. Ed enjoyed being around his Bridges family and lending his electrical expertise to the church.</p><p><br></p><p>Ed was a loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather. The family always relied on his expertise and guidance in life. Ed enjoyed taking time with his children to teach mechanical skills and share his plethora of knowledge to help the kids grow. Some of Ed's favorite pastimes included riding around in his Jeep Wrangler and working on his house as well as his children's homes. Ed will be deeply missed by all.</p><p><br></p><p>In addition to his parents, Ed was preceded in death by his brother Kenny Seymour.</p><p><br></p><p>Ed is survived by three children, Justin (Heather) Seymour of Georgetown, KY, Ry Seymour of Northern KY, and Lindsay Miller of Ashland, KY; two grandchildren, Kenley Miller and Reagan Miller both of Ashland, KY; one sister, Sandy Benefield; one brother, Kevin (Tammy) Seymour; one sister-in-law, Mary Seymour; one brother-in-law, David (Jevgenia) Jacobson; one aunt, Joyce Seymour; several nieces and nephews; and a host of extended family and friends.</p><p><br></p><p>A Celebration of Life ceremony will be scheduled at a later date.</p><p><br></p><p>Caniff Funeral Home is managing arrangements.
