Dhaka University Admission Circular 2023-2024
The University of Dhaka, with a legacy of a hundred years of excellence, is often called the Oxford of the East. DU Admission Test Date
In the academic year 2023-2024, the DU admission examination for undergraduate 1st-year students will take place in February and March.

Admission Test Venue: The admission examinations for the other three units, excluding the Charukola (Fine Arts) Unit, will be conducted in eight divisional cities, including Dhaka. The divisional centers include Rajshahi University, Chittagong University, Barisal University, Khulna University, Shahjalal University of Science and Technology, Bangladesh Agricultural University, and Begum Rokeya University.

Dhaka University admission test for the first year Bachelor (Honors) will be conducted in four restructured units, as per the latest decision. The four admission test components have been reorganized as follows:
- Arts, Law and Social Science Unit
- Science Unit

- Fine Arts Unit
DU Admission Requirements
The University of Dhaka (DU) has updated its minimum entrance exam criteria by raising the minimum GPA requirement starting from the previous academic year. Candidates who have passed SSC/ equivalent examination from 2018 to 2021 and the HSC/ equivalent examination in 2023 from any group can apply for admission. Below are the entry requirements for each unit:
Science Unit
For Science Background
To be eligible to apply for admission, candidates must have achieved a minimum GPA of 3.50 in both their SSC and HSC (or equivalent) exams. Additionally, the total GPA, including additional subjects, must be at least 8.00.
For Humanities & Business Studies Background
Applicants from Arts and Commerce backgrounds are eligible to apply for this unit, but they must have obtained at least 3.00 GPA in both their SSC and HSC (or equivalent) examinations. Furthermore, the total GPA, including additional subjects, must be at least 7.50.

Arts, Law and Social Science Unit
For Humanities Background
To be eligible to apply for admission, candidates must have achieved a minimum GPA of 3.00 in both their SSC and HSC (or equivalent) exams. Additionally, the total GPA, including additional subjects, must be at least 7.50.
For Science & Business Studies Background
To be eligible for admission to this unit, science students must have a minimum sum of GPA obtained in their secondary and higher secondary or equivalent examination (including 4th subject) of 8.0, with a minimum GPA of 3.5 separately. Commerce students, on the other hand, must have a minimum sum of GPA of 7.5, with a minimum GPA of 3.0 separately.

Business Studies Unit
For Business Studies Background
Candidates must have achieved a minimum GPA of 3.00 in both their SSC and HSC (or equivalent) exams. Additionally, the total GPA, including additional subjects, must be at least 7.50.
For Humanities & Science Background
To be eligible for admission to this unit, science students must have a minimum sum of GPA obtained in their secondary and higher secondary or equivalent examination (including 4th subject) of 8.0, with a minimum GPA of 3.5 separately. DU New Marks Distribution
The admission authority of Dhaka University has revised the distribution of admission marks, reducing the weightage of MCQ and CGPA marks and increasing the marks for the written exam. Under the new marks distribution, 60 marks will be allocated for the MCQ test, and 40 marks will be allocated for the written test.
