Budget[edit]

Not much budget info available but Swanberg talks in general terms about bigger budgets making it clear the film cost in excess of the $20,000 his films might normally cost, and that the cost was "above five figures". The LA Times says less than a million. So that leaves us anywhere from $100,000 to 999,999 which I think is too vague, and I don't like the idea of including "less than 1 million" in the Infobox either. -- 109.79.83.161 (talk) 14:25, 7 November 2013 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Someone added $1 million as the budget with a citation that claims the budget is $500,000. I've changed the article to $500,000. -- 109.78.203.40 (talk) 05:11, 27 January 2014 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Jason Sudeikis Credit?[edit]

I noticed that Jason Sudeikies isn't credited in the movie, in neither the opening or the closing credits. The character of Gene Dentler which he plays is listed as being played by "Himself". This is odd. Does anyone know why that is? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.31.242.174 (talk) 05:52, 16 December 2013 (UTC)Reply[reply]

  • Director Joe Swanberg started shooting this film at the same time his friend David Lowery was shooting Ain't Them Bodies Saints (2013). They decided that they, '...should have the same character in both movies just as a little hat tip. There's a cop named Gene Dentler in his movie and '[Jason] Sudeikis' plays Gene Dentler in ours. The name plate on Sudeikis' desk (in Drinking Buddies) that says Gene Dentler, we sent down to Shreveport and [Lowery] shot it in his movie, too."
So, just part of the "nod" I guess. --2A02:8071:B693:BE00:28A3:D84E:AA4F:D744 (talk) 17:06, 13 March 2017 (UTC)Reply[reply]
