Starring: The Wicked, Charming, Dutch Icon Rutger Hauer
The third and final installment of Patrick Lussier's Dracula trilogy, which began in 2000 and starred a young Gerard Buttler as the iconic vampire, features our very own Rutger Hauer in the role for a few minutes, which is, to say the least, a letdown. There is a decent fight between our villain and our hero, but it is brief and unmemorable.
Aside from that, the picture is fine, if a little repetitious mostly because all the resistance thing. Even if Jason Scott Lee isn't a thespian, you can count on him to bring the camp and the punches. Having seen every episode of "Party of Five," my mind kept wandering to…
Far beyond dire. Rutger doesn’t show up until about 25 minutes from the end. He has two brief scenes where he threatens to turn this into an actual movie, but it’s not enough. Weak action, virtually nonexistent gore and just horribly dated mid-2000’s DTV film making tics render this nigh on insufferable. Avoid.
So this year I completed the Dimension From Dusk til Dawn and Wes Craven Presents Dracula trilogies. I don’t know why I did it apart from seeing them on Max and not having newer, better movies to watch. They mostly stunk, but had one decent entry a piece. Now, I will never watch, or speak, of any of these movies again.
Good evening and welcome fellow Children of Chaos.
When people trash 00s horror, I think a lot of them are thinking things like this. Movies that are like the Dead Space sequels, horror because it's predecessors are horror. This is an action movie, plain and simple.
Still gonna call it horror for my list to make it look bigger. Like measuring from the taint.
Anyways, what we have is this goofy movie about a vampire hunter hunting vampires going after the big D who is smuggling people so he can take on their bodily fluids.
So out bumbling main character, the sidekick to a kick ass excommunicated priest to stop Dracula from taking big hard teeth, and penetrating Elizabeth and…
So it's not the worst Dracula - on par with the first two Wes Craven presents Draculi, making up for its low budget restrictions with big ideas. Feels more like a Stake Land sequel though, since Dracula is only briefly mentioned until his grand entrance in the last 15 minutes of the movie. Odd how Gerard Butler has become Rutger Hauer. Earns some points for having a clown vampire on stilts.
The team of director Patrick Lussier and producer / writer Joel Soisson continue Dimension's blood sucker series, picking up the body parts left in Ascension's wake.
Most plot details would spoil the previous entry - which is worth checking out - a basic premise sees Jason Scott Lee's Simon Belmontesque Father Uffizi, along with sidekick Jason London, tracking vampire #1 to Romania. The American vampire film actually shot in Romania is a gimmick first exploited by the Subspecies series, but as DTV productions increasingly moved to the economically friendly Eastern Bloc, this text specific locale has become less noteworthy. Even Uwe Boll's BloodRayne can claim such authenticity. Its still worth mentioning, as Soisson's script sets up a country in the…
Well....its better than Dracula 2.
I wonder if Rutger Hower is the only man to ever play both Vanhelsing and Dracula?
Filming in Romania really adds something to a vampire movie.
Mondo Cinema out.....

15. any Dracula flick
I am sort of a monster. I have never seen the first two movies in this series and I am not sure if that would have made this better or worse. I can say that I dug Rutger Hauer's Dracula and the blood looked excellent. One thing I didn't understand was why Dracula had so many televisions in his lair. Are these actually needed or was it to make this look like mid-90s alt-rock music video? Not sure but it looked kind of out of place.
I can’t tell if this was actually better than the second or if I just like Rutger Hauer.
Dracula III brings a conclusion to the Dracula 2000 trilogy and story started in Ascension, and Patrick Lussier was kinda genius for keeping it away from theaters. It feels like these sequels had less studio interference and more creative control, and in turn were much more entertaining. Jason Scott Lee was god-like here, and bringing back Diane Neal in her vampire state and Jason London as a vampire hunter was smart as well. Really wish they would've kept the Dracula from the last film, but this worked all in all. Definitely doesn't deserve this low an average rating.

Patrick Lussier's early 2000's Dracula trilogy comes to an end.... People are wack, this was a fun time.
Jason Scott Lee returns and is great as the vampire hunter priest... Rutger Hauer plays Dracula... And... CGI bomb baby. Good DTV stuff.
