A marvellous gothic masterpiece with a fabulous cast and brilliant dialogue. Literally a blood transfusion to the old Hammer interpretations. Most of all, a love story that crosses centuries. An absolute gem of a film. Anthony Hopkins is the best Van Helsing ever. Gary Oldman as the count is inspired. Musical scores, costumes and script enhance this film to great heights. Dracula encounters the mirror ‘a foul bauble of man's vanity'. Dracula encounters the crucifix ‘do not put your faith in such trinkets of deceit'. A brilliant, enchanting performance by all.

The color tones are extremely vibrant, which is an interesting concept for a 1992 film, it wasn't colorized. The story plot is slow and rather gory. Not my style of movie.
