World Events
World Events are a new system of side quests that can be found all over England in Assassin's Creed Valhalla. Marked by glowing green spots on your map and when using Odin Sight, these points of interest usually include characters in need of some form of assistance, and you'll be rewarded with experience for completing them.
Most World Events are fairly short and simple in nature but will provide some interesting opportunities not presented in the main narrative.
Animus Anomalies
The Animus is the machine that the game’s real protagonist, Layla, is currently engrossed in. The Animus is what allows people in the present to access the memories of their ancestors and experience their lives. In Assassin's Creed Valhalla, Animus Anomalies are glitches in the Animus program.
As you get closer to an anomaly, you will see the environment -- rock, trees, etc. -- start glitching around the marked spot. Interacting with an anomaly desyncs Layla from Eivor’s world. Fixing these anomalies requires completing a platforming puzzle with simulations you won’t encounter in the rest of the game.
Completing these anomalies also reveals deep mysteries about the Assassin’s Creed universe.
Flyting
Flyting in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is a duel where Eivor competes against a cunning linguist in a battle of word, wit, and wealth.
Essentially a Vikings time rap battle, flyting involves each opponent speaking and usually insulting the other opponent while praising themselves. The opponent always throws the first line in the duel. Your job is to respond quickly by selecting one of the three choices offered to you onscreen.
The rhythm, cadence (inflection of the voice), and rhyme of your response must be similar to the opponent’s previously spoken one. Context is important as well, which means your response should be about what is being said – such as, if the opponent starts talking trash about your mom, you don’t respond by just saying that the opponent smells bad, you gotta defend your mom!
Fly Agaric
Fly Agaric is a type of mystery that you can encounter in almost every region of the game. These mysteries are represented with a white mushroom-shaped icon on your map. When at a Fly Agaric location, find the patch of mushrooms and press the interact button to… seek enlightenment?
After consuming the mushroom, Eivor will take a trip (while standing in the same place) and begin the Fly Agaric journey. These are challenges/mini puzzles that you must complete and will earn you XP for doing so. Completing them is usually vague and dependent on looking for clues in your environment, so that you can use the gate to exit the area.

Standing Stones
Standing Stones are locations in the world where mystical energy congregates. People that make the pilgrimage to these places can find enlightenment if they open their mind’s eye and look at the world carefully. In Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, these areas are visual puzzles. Each features a stone in the center with a unique marking. Using Odin’s Sight, Eivor can reveal patterns spread throughout the area. The challenge is to find the nearby location that allows you to see the symbol formed on the stone from the various pattern pieces. Completing these Mysteries grants you XP and 1 Skill Point.
Cairns
Not to be confused with Standing Stone locations, Cairns are locations where you make stones stand… Joking aside, Cairns are structures created by stacking stones one on top of the other.
This practice of creating Cairns has been done throughout human history for a variety of reasons such as making landmarks, used burial plots, ceremonies, meditation and more. In Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, Evior could visit these locations and take time to reflect while building a Cairn.
Doing so will treat you with more details regarding Evior’s childhood, and also reward you with some XP and a Skill Point.
Offering Altars
As the name implies, Offering Altars in Assassin’s Creed are places you’ll encounter where you can make an offering to the gods. Each altar requests a particular offer. Some may simply ask for silver, while others require certain fish varieties or resources. Completing an Offering Altar will usually result in the discovery of a World Event.
Head to our Altars page for details about each Altar and where to find them.
Legendary Animals
In Assassin's Creed Valhalla, Eivor will have the opportunity to seek out legendary beasts of mythic proportions and defeat them in Legendary Hunts. These boss fights will prove to be a true test of skill, but the rewards are said to be as legendary as the hunt itself.
As you build up your settlement at Ravensthorpe, you will have the opportunity to build a Hunter's Hut. By bringing proof of your kills to the Huntsman, you can unlock rare rewards, and even turn in lesser trade goods harvested from other animals for additional unique rewards.
Lost Drenger
Every great viking craves a warrior's death. In your travels through Norway and England, you may come upon the last remnants of King Ragnar Lothbrok's most loyal viking elite, known as the Drengr.
Once responsible for pillaging England, these aged fighters are now leaderless and without purpose – but yearn for a proper death. Face them in battle, and you'll earn mighty rewards – but don't expect an easy fight.
Daughters of Lerion
The Daughters of Lerion are the daughters of a very powerful man who revelled in the occult and practiced dark magic. The powerful families in England banded together to kill this wicked family and destroy the cult that might arise. Though Lerion’s daughters escaped the assassination attempt, their father perished.
As fugitives, they scattered across eastern England, taking with them the mystical and occult powers their father had taught them and seeking vengeance for his death by brutally murdering any person unlucky enough to come across them.
If you come across any of the three Daughters of Lerion, get ready for a Helheim of a fight. Defeating all three may lead you to something special.
Treasures of Britain
Treasures of Britain are very rare ancient artifacts made from a mysterious material. In Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, these are stored in the Collectibles section of the Inventory menu.
