Dix Hills History

Dix Hills was originally inhabited by Native Americans. The area was named after Dick Pechagan, an Indian settler who sold the land to trustees of the Town of Huntington. At that time, the area was known as Dick's Hills. Dix Hills is a part of the Town of Huntington, which was incorporated on November 30, 1666.
