When it comes to theatrical excellence, it’s difficult to top Dead to Me. The first season of Liz Feldman’s incredibly popular Netflix dramedy earned well-deserved acclaim as stars Christina Applegate and Linda Cardellini delivered exceptional performances, resulting in Applegate receiving an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series.

Earlier today, the second season of Dead to Me premiered on Netflix. If you thought the acting was superb in Season 1, well, hold on to your hat because the Applegate/Cardellini dream team somehow manages to surpass their first season excellence. Adding to the show’s already stellar pedigree is the addition of Natalie Morales as Michelle Gutierrez. Without spoiling the latest batch of episodes, Michelle plays a pivotal role in Season 2, and Morales’ contagious onscreen charisma elevates the season to a whole new level.

Where have you seen Natalie Morales before? Here’s everything you need to know about Dead to Me’s newest superstar.

WOW! I CAN’T BELIEVE TODAY SHOW ANCHOR NATALIE MORALES IS ON DEAD TO ME!

Nope. Different Natalie Morales. Back in March of 2019, the actress explained the confusion caused by her “name twin” to Jimmy Fallon.

WHERE HAVE I SEEN NATALIE MORALES BEFORE?

If you’re a comedy fan, you most likely recognize Morales as Lucy from Parks and Recreation or as the titular Abby from NBC’s 2019 sitcom Abby‘s. She also portrayed Anne Garcia on Netflix’s Santa Clarita Diet, Clementine on HBO’s Girls, Meg on ABC’s Trophy Wife, Wendy Watson on ABC Family’s The Middleman, and Claire on one of the best one-season sitcoms of all time: The Grinder.

Outside of comedy, Morales also starred on the first season of USA’s White Collar and appeared in two episodes of HBO’s The Newsroom.

On the big screen, Natalie has appeared in Battle of the Sexes, Stuber, Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps, and the 2010 comedy Going the Distance.

WHAT ELSE YA GOT?

A fan of Clueless, Gilda Radner, the silent comedy of Buster Keaton, and the Mission Impossible franchise, Morales’ first role was on a 2006 episode of CSI: Miami. Natalie shared a fun, embarrassing story about David Caruso with Seth Meyers during a 2019 episode of Late Night.

Behind the camera, the multi-hyphenate directed an episode of Room 104 and created the short video American Fleabag Auditions.

WHAT’S NEXT FOR NATALIE MORALES?

In 2021, the actress will star alongside Joel McHale and Kerry Bishe in BenDavid Grabinski’s comedy thriller Happily and appear in John Lee Hancock’s The Little Things.
