Darren Criss and his wife Mia are expecting their first child.
The “Glee” star, 34, announced the news on Twitter Friday with a video of the couple listening to the sounds of their unborn child’s heartbeat.
“We’ve been making music for years,” Criss captioned the clip. “… But this time we made a BEAT. The ultimate collab droppin Spring 2022.”
The “American Crime Story” actor also shared the announcement on Instagram alongside a slideshow of photos and videos, including a sonogram that said “Baby Von Criss. Dropping Spring 2022.”
Congratulations immediately poured in for the parents-to-be in the comments section.
Actress Evan Rachel Wood commented, “SHUT UP 😭.” Rachel Zegler also added, “CONGRATULATIONS OH MY GOD.”
Criss and Mia, 35, wed in February 2019 in New Orleans in front of family and friends, including the groom’s former “Glee” co-stars Lea Michele, Harry Shum Jr., and Chord Overstreet.
The pair got engaged after dating for eight years.
“Mia and I have had seven and a half years of fun, wacky, wonderful, CRAZY adventures together,” Criss shared on Instagram after he proposed. “And I’m happy to announce that we’re kicking those adventures up a notch. We’re goin for it. To boldly go where neither of us have gone before. Engage.”
In June 2020, Criss wrote a very sweet message to his wife on Instagram with a kissing pic in honor of their 10th anniversary of dating.
“Ten. I used to hear a number like that and think — no way. But here I am, lucky enough to get to say the number,” he wrote. “And for all that time it has truly only gotten better every single day. Her tenacity, her creativity, her selflessness, her penchant for always giving life a fun flourish — they’ve all been an evergreen source of joy and inspiration for as long as I’ve known her.”
Criss concluded the touching tribute by stating he wakes up so “grateful to share such a special togetherness with her,” adding, “To many more, my Mia. Thanks for making the world a brighter place.”
