Dan’s biography

Daniel Letterle was born and raised in Northfield, Ohio. He was actively involved in both musical programs and sports throughout his teenage years. Prior to his graduation from Nordonia High School in June of 1997, he left small-town Ohio for the bright lights of New York City.

Adjusting to the Big Apple was a challenge. He supported himself with mundane jobs (including waiting tables, selling tires, and constructing sets for the Metropolitan Opera) while being involved in many musicals and dinner theaters as a chorus member and dancer. After traveling to Europe to be a dancer in a production of “West Side Story” at the La Scala in Milan, Italy and to play the role of Doody in “Grease” in Berlin, Germany, Letterle returned to New York to pursue acting once more.

His first big break was the 2003 film “Camp”, where Letterle played Vlad Baumann, the leading role. The following year, after being cast in a minor role in an episode of Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, he starred in two more movies: “Debating Robert Lee” and MTV’s “Monster Island” (opposite Carmen Electra). In 2005, Letterle took on a more challenging role as the title character in “The Mostly Unfabulous Social Life of Ethan Green”. He spent a year living in Los Angeles pursuing these and several other projects.

After taking a brief hiatus, Letterle has become involved in several projects. He returned to Ohio in 2006 where he currently resides.
