‘NCIS: Los Angeles’ season 8, episode 9 preview: Callen’s father returns for Thanksgiving episode

Glasnot -Thanksgiving is the time of year where everyone really does their best to celebrate family, and embrace the many things in life that they have to be grateful for (like a massive turkey roasting in your oven). Given that the team on “NCIS: Los Angeles” is in so many ways a family within a family, we’re sure that there will be many opportunities next week in order to watch them do just this. Family is not only blood, it’s also who you love.

However, at the same time nothing in this show ever goes that peacefully for our team, and while Callen’s going to get a chance to spend some time with his own family, things get rather complicated quickly thanks to what he has to do next:

Synopsis – “After Callen’s father, Garrison (Daniel J. Travanti) is found in an NCIS patient’s hospital room during a radiation poisoning case, Callen must take him to the boat-shed for interrogation. Also, the team discusses their Thanksgiving plans.”

Of course, we don’t want to believe that Garrison is in any way responsible for what happened here, but obviously the team has to do their job in the event that an extremely-depressing/worst-case scenario does come around. They have to do their part to figure out precisely what he knows, and also what the ramifications of all this could mean for Callen. No one wants to hear “Happy Thanksgiving, your father is going to jail, pass the cranberry sauce please”.

As for the remainder of this episode, we do think that there’s a lot of fun to be had out of seeing the team talk about and hopefully celebrate Thanksgiving. There are a few people out there like Kensi and Deeks who have a lot to reflect on and be thankful for, given that they’ve underwent such a long, difficult journey over the course of the past several months. They aren’t only a family in the team, they are outside of the team as well.

What do you think Callen’s father is involved with and do you think he will be headed to the slammer? Leave us a comment below and share with us what you want to see happen.
