This week 349 people walked, jogged and/or ran (also a few laid back and enjoyed the pram ride) the course at Gardiners Creek Reserve, of whom 24 were at Gardiners Creek parkrun for the first time—including 8 people who completed their first ever parkrun. There were also 7 people who did their second parkrun—a big welcome back to all of you! And 63 people logged a new personal best time for the course.
Full results are available on the results page and photos are available in the Facebook album.

When I arrived, not knowing what a Report Writer actually does, at 7.30am, our very focused Run Director Nadya graciously said the Report Writer does absolutely nothing before the event. Although this was slightly a relief to hear, really I don’t know if twiddling my thumbs for half an hour would have been fair so I offered to take a few signs, go for a walk and hammer them along the route. I don’t think I did the best job. Usually me and hammers don’t mix and this wasn’t the time to start an exception. I’m not bad with a gavel though.
Although like Michael Jackson in the song by Rockwell or Jack Nicholson in Broadcast News, they are uncredited, I want to particularly thank Nadya’s children for helping set up with their parents. I am confident both will go on to an illustrious career in parkrun volunteering.
A big thank-you to all of our high-viz heroes on Saturday.

No one at all is surprised you came back. I’ll be betting my house (but not my investment house) you will be back a third time.

Report Writer's Comments
I just want to say that nine years after completing my Journalism degree, I am finally putting it to good use.
“Something amusing”
(that’s what the report template asks for here)
Any of the photos I am in generally are very funny. My wife hasn’t stopped laughing all day.
Overall, thank you for the opportunity to have a hand in this week’s report. In case I don’t see you, happy running next time.
