Weren’t Born A Man - Dana Gillespie in conversation with Tom Dunne

SUNday April 24TH - The Kevin Barry Room, National Concert Hall, earlsfort terrace, D2 - Doors: 4pm - Adm: €15

Dana Gillespie’s 2021 memoir, Weren’t Born A Man, lifted the lid on one of entertainment’s wildest, most adventurous and creative lives so we are delighted to bring this amazing woman to our Festival for an event that promises to be entertaining, informative and great fun. She is, after all, a singer, songwriter, actress, broadcaster and consummate raconteuse who’s lived multiple lives and one who has worked with Bowie, Elton John, MIck Jagger and Bob Dylan amongst many many others. Bowie penned his song ‘Andy Worhol’ especially for Dana in 1971, which was released as a single and on Dana’s ‘Weren't Born A Man’ album produced by Bowie in 1973 and she also sang backing vocals on Bowie’s iconic album Ziggy Stardust. She’s known as the UK’s long-reigning Queen of the Blues, has just released her 72nd album and is a beguiling interviewee so make sure you don't miss this one!
