DePaul took an early 14-8 lead in the first set before sophomore Megan Skovsende entered the match and immediately put the Jays ahead with an 8-0 serving run. The Bluejay burst started with a block by Naomi Hickman and Keeley Davis, one of five Blue Demon errors in that spurt. An ace by Wait put Creighton ahead 23-19 and provided some cushion, and a kill by Hickman closed out the set.  Zimmerman started her big night with five kills and seven digs.

The second set featured 14 ties and five lead changes. CU trailed 21-19 late before kills from freshmen Sis and Wait evened the score at 21-all. Creighton earned a set point chance on a DePaul error at 23-22 and closed it out when Meredith Wallace's attack sailed wide. Sis and Keeley Davis each had four kills in the second frame as CU hit .314 and Wait and Hickman each had three block assists.

Creighton fell behind 18-15 in the third set but would rally to take a 21-20 lead a short time later following three straight kills by Sis. The Jays trailed 23-22 before three straight DePaul attack errors closed out the match, a streak that started on a block by Zimmerman and Annika Welty. The final attack error from Bailey Nelson was challenged by DePaul coach Marie Zidek, but the original call was upheld as Creighton secured the sweep.  Sis had six kills and Bottomley added nine digs in the final frame.
