KALAMAZOO, MI — The tradition for Loy Norrix High School students is to gather at Crane Park on Westnedge Hill for pre-prom photos.

Photographer Mark Bugnaski started a new tradition when he asked students gathered there to help him film a video to celebrate their prom, which was held later Saturday night at the Four Points by Sheraton on Cork Street.

The students were dressed up for their "Knight of Sweet Elegance" — pun intended as a play on the school teams known as the Knights.

Although students had initially been hesitant to dance on camera, Bugnaski said finding a few "key" personalities, such as basketball star Bishop Robinson made the filming easier. Once Robinson committed to putting on his dancing shoes, other student quickly joined in for a "Harlem Shake."
