Track and Field Travels To The Peach State For Georgia Tech Invitational

ATLANTA, Ga – Track and field will make it's way to the Peach State to compete at the Georgia Tech Invitational. With last weekend's running of the Transatlantic Series marking the one and only time this season that Cornell competed on the home track.

Women's Track and Field
Following their convincing win last weekend against the Cambridge-Oxford duo, women's track and field is looking to ride their wave of success into this upcoming weekend. The Big Red saw first place in 11 events on Friday with numerous personal bests. Skyy Johnson claimed first place in the long-jump this with a mark of 6.30 meters, a personal best. Lauren Jones recorded her top time ever of 11.93 seconds in the 100-meter dash. Ama Boham and Reyne Rodrigues will look to take care of business in the 100- and 400-meter hurdles, respectively.

Men's Track and Field
The men also put on a clinic against their British counterparts on Friday and are looking to keep their momentum going. Dominic Baressi finished first in the 100-meter dash with a time of 10.38, picking up the Cornell record in the process. Smith Charles will be an athlete to watch after setting PR's and claiming top spots in both the long and high-jump events, jumping 7.72 meters and 2.09 meters respectively. Brad Morell and Patrick Brewer who recorded four podium finishes last week and will look to replicate those performances this weekend in Atlanta.

Cornell returns to New York to compete in the Cortland Challenge in Cortland, N.Y. on Tuesday, April 25.
