Welcome to Barton Hall

  • Saturday's dual will be Cornell's first in Barton Hall since 2003.

  • Opened in 1915, Barton Hall served as a ground school for military aeronautics during World War I. It was an armory and a drill deck during World War II.

  • The historic building is named after Colonel Frank A. Barton, one of the first Cornell students to earn a commission in the US Army.

  • Renovated in 2016, Barton Hall has a 200-meter track, the widest allowable by the NCAA for NCAA-qualifying purposes.

Know The Foe

  • Sacred Heart is 0-2 in duals this season, with a 28-10 loss to LIU and a 28-18 loss to Bloomsburg. The Pioneers face North Carolina State and Presbyterian on Friday in Albany before visiting the Big Red.

  • Senior Andrew Fallon (133) and graduate senior Scott Jarosz (165) have been SHU's top performers. Both recorded victories over LIU and Presbyterian.

  • Three Cornell wrestlers — Foca (174), Yianni Diakomihalis (149) and Christian Hansen (184) — won by fall against Sacred Heart grapplers at the EIWA Championships last season. Foca beat Ryan Bolletino, Diakomihalis beat Mike McGhee and Hansen beat Owen Ayotte.

  • Head coach John Clark took over the Sacred Heart program in 2017 and helped Nick Palumbo and Joe Accousti become the first Pioneers to qualify for the NCAA Championships since 2007.

  • A 2004 graduate of Ohio State, Clark was a two-time All-American for the Buckeyes. The Buckeyes and Big Red squared off during the 2002-03 and 2003-04 seasons.
