As a Junior (2017-18)
• NCAA East Preliminary qualifier (110 hurdles)
• Third in school history in the 60 meter hurdles (7.94).
• Fourth all-time at Cornell in the 110 hurdles (14.02).
• Scored at both Heps, placing fourth in the 60 hurdles at indoors (8.01) and third in the 110 hurdles during outdoors (14.11).
• Took 11th in the 110 hurdles at the IC4A Outdoor Championships (14.47).
• Recorded five top-five finishes on the year.
• Set personal record in the 60 hurdles during preliminaries at Indoor Heps.
• Notched another PR in the 110 hurdles at the Tiger Track Classic.
As a Sophomore (2016-17)
• Had a strong sophomore campaign for Cornell, earning three individual titles and 10 top 10 finishes overall.
• Indoors, started off the year with wins in the 60 meter hurdles at the Greg Page Relays and the Southern Tier Collegiate Open and then used a personal best of 8.11 to finish fifth at the Ivy League Indoor Track and Field Championships.
• Outdoors, finished second in the 110 hurdles at the Rafer Johnson/Jackie Joyner-Kersee Invitational with a seasonal best of 14.60, first at the Transatlantic Series and then finished fourth at outdoor Heps (14.39w).
As a Freshman (2015-16)
• Had a very successful first season in the sprint hurdles for the Big Red, making it all the way to the IC4A/ECAC Championships both indoors and outdoors.
• Indoors, claimed the individual title at the Southern Tier Collegiate Open in the 60 meter hurdles with a time of 8.22 and went on to place in the top 10 six other times before placing 21st at the IC4A/ECAC Championships.
• Outdoors, had three top 10 finishes in the 110 meter hurdles, including a seventh place finish at the Ivy League Outdoor Track and Field Championships and a fourth place finish at the UC Riverside Spring Break Invitational with his year-best 14.46.
Before Cornell
• Competing primarily in the sprints and hurdles, Lyons was the state runner-up in the 110 meter hurdles as a senior, when he also finished ninth in Georgia in the 300 hurdles after winning the Gwinnett County title in both events, earning him First Team All-County honors.
• He was also named First Team All-Region after finishing first in the region in the 110 hurdles and runner-up in the 300 hurdles.
• He captained the track and field team to a runner-up finish at regionals his senior year.
• A University of Georgia Merit Scholar Recipient, Lyons was president of Future Business Leaders of America, vice president of the National Honors Society and a member of the BETA Club, Gwinnett Student Leadership Team and two academic honor societies.
Personal
• Austin LeJuan Lyons is the son of Juan and Renee Lyons.
• He has a younger brother, Ashton, and is enrolled in the SC Johnson College of Business.
