- Steve SNew York City, NY5 contributionsCool spot! I like the historical aspect. The water was a little cold but had almost no chlorine, which was nice. Would give it five stars except the crowd was a little rowdy.Written April 16, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Wonderful to know the rest of the history of the Merrick family and Coral Gables and to find out that the city of Coral Gables was actually named after this house, and not the other way around! Beautiful home with lovely furnishings inside and some fab stories of the family and the city. It really took some guts to move from the north east to Miami 100 years ago when it was nothing but swamp land! We also appreciated the Merrick house allowing us to have a picnic lunch on the patio afterwards. Grounds are very nice and there is a lovely clean toilet to use as well. Fascinating and under $5 to tour!Written May 31, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

- Miriam White WilliamsMiami, FL249 contributionsTry to imagine Miami and the wilderness area that it was 100 years ago as you wind your way down Old Cutler Road. Few homesteads, no traffic lights, no paved roads, no congestion. Admire the bounty of trees and let your imagination wander. Try to find as many native plants as you can and name them. Make it a true adventure!Written March 19, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- lynfordFlorida Keys, FL151 contributionsWonderful little place. Gentleman at reception desk was extremely nice and helpful. Having grown up in Miami I still found things I never knew. From the meet and greet at the Ben Gurion airport to our departure, we were well cared for. The curated site selection was extremely professional. Our guide, Israel Garfinkel, was extremely knowledgeable and fun. Everyone seems to know him and respect him as a tour guide and war hero.
