Bio

James Daniel Jordan (born February 17, 1964) is an American politician, former collegiate wrestler, and former collegiate wrestling coach. He has served as the U.S. representative for Ohio's 4th congressional district since 2007. A member of the Republican Party, Jordan was the ranking member of the House Oversight Committee from 2019 to 2020. In February 2020, he left that committee to become the ranking member of the United States House Committee on the Judiciary. Jordan is a founding member of the Freedom Caucus, which he chaired from its establishment in 2015 until 2017. His district stretches from Lake Erie to just below Urbana in the north-central and western portions of the state and includes Lima, Marion, Tiffin, Urbana, and Elyria.
