Mr. Joy wrongfully submitted a invoice to a collection company for work he was previously OVER-paid for.
In or about June 2017, Mr. Joy was hired on an hourly basis to complete two projects: Install a French drain alongside one fence line of the property, and to pour a new concrete slab for a (approx. 15'x20') barn addition. All materials and equipment rentals were paid by Blew Pony Stables, LLC (BPS) at the time of construction. All wages, for Mr. Joy, his son and one other helper, were calculated weekly and paid in cash.
Though a budget was initially agreed upon, no written estimate was provided by Mr. Joy and no contract was executed. Under Mr. Joy's job-site management, cost over-runs nearly doubled the budget in the 3 weeks he was on-site, due to poor project management, untrained/unskilled help and angry disputes resulting in his own son refusing to come back to the job site for days.
The French drain, was dug much too deep, requiring several additional truck loads of rock at $600.00/load. Though the concrete slab was poured without incident during the 2nd week of work, the work on the French drain was one crisis after another. When Ms. Lane attempted to discuss budget matters with Mr. Joy, he became angry/outraged and aggressive enough for Ms. Lane to terminate the project prior to the French drain's completion. Mr. Joy retaliated by deliberately and maliciously pounded several spikes into the front tire of Ms. Lane's personal vehicle.
Mr. Joy's attempt to extort additional monies from this train-wreck of a project, is criminal and only further exhibits Mr. Joy's poor professional conduct. After the day, Mr. Joy was asked to leave the property, BPS was never contacted in any way, by Mr. Joy or his company for any additional payments. Turning in a fake invoice to a collection agency is a desperate show of cowardice on his part.
After receiving the collection notice, Ms. Lane submitted a claim with the Better Business Bureau, contacted her attorney and replied to the collection agency with the facts stated above. The case was quickly and rightly closed. Now, I sit with my shot-gun, waiting for him to come back to retaliate, again. This is no way to live. Consumer Beware!!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
