This place came recommended by a guest of the hotel we were staying at. So we went, and I really wish we hadn't. I ordered the blackened scallops as I can't eat them very often because of where I live. I was told they were..."jumbo size" and there was four of them. 33 bucks. Not exactly cheap given the tax and gratuity that needs to go over the top. Came with "risotto-style Israeli cous cous". When the food came, it turned out that, in order to "blacken" the rather unimpressive (i.e. small) scallops, they had been covered in some sort of seasoning. Why would anyone want to to do that to scallops, that is sacrilege. The food came with some pak choi which was completely unseasoned and hard as nails, completely uncooked. I am au fait with the term "al dente". This was not it. The risotto-style Israeli cous cous was just gloop. The rest of our party did not finish their food either. When I complained the staff blamed the "Texan chef". I suggested that I would not allow for any gratuity as he had misrepresented the food and he stormed off in a huff. Just goes to show he had no interest in presenting good food in a nice way, but just to get his hands on some of our hard-earned dosh for little or no effort. Which is pretty much the story of the whole week in Florida. Crap food, no customer service at all, high prices. Just don't go, it's not worth it.More
