Men's Basketball Releases 2022-23 Schedule

Lions face a 29-game slate

NEW YORK — Columbia men's basketball head coach Jim Engles announced the complete 2022-23 schedule on Monday afternoon.

The Lions tip off the season on the road on Monday, November 7 against a Rutgers team that finished in the top 100 of last year's final NET rankings. Three days later, they welcome UMass-Lowell to Schiller Court at Levien Gymnasium for the home opener.

Columbia alternates road and home games over the next two weeks, taking on Sacred Heart on Nov. 13 in Connecticut before a home contest against Delaware State on Nov. 16. The Lions then face Maine for the third consecutive season, heading to Orono on Nov. 18 before closing out the stretch against SUNY Maritime on Nov. 20.

The Lions have a three-game road trip beginning Nov. 23 at Binghamton. After that, it's on to Providence (Nov. 26) to face a Friars team that made a Sweet 16 run in 2022 and then the Lions stop in Poughkeepsie two days later for a meeting with Marist. Columbia begins December with a four-game home stretch, playing host to New Hampshire (Dec. 3), Sarah Lawrence (Dec. 4), UMBC (Dec. 6) and Fairleigh Dickinson (Dec. 9). The final two non-conference tilts are at Lafayette (Dec. 12) and against Maryland-Eastern Shore (Dec. 28).

Ivy League play commences on New Year's Eve at home against Yale, followed by a home back-to-back against Princeton and Penn (Jan. 6-7). After a trip to Harvard (Jan. 14), Columbia hosts Cornell on January 16 for a Martin Luther King Day matinee. The Lions are then on the road for five straight against Brown (Jan. 21), Dartmouth (Jan. 28), Penn (Feb. 3), Princeton (Feb. 4) and Yale (Feb. 11).

Three of the Lions' final four regular season games are at home against the Crimson (Feb. 17), Big Green (Feb. 18) and the Bears (Feb. 25). Columbia wraps things up in Ithaca, taking on the Big Red on March 4.

The top-four regular season finishers in the conference compete in this year's Ivy Madness, being held at Jadwin Gymnasium on the campus of Princeton University from March 10-12.
