Sasha Obama is officially a taken woman. 

The daughter of former President Barack Obama, 20, was pictured looking blissfully happy while out and about with her boyfriend Clifton Powell Jr., 24, on Monday - debuting her new romance to the public for the first time.

She donned a flowing purple skirt with a matching crop top for the outing, which left her midriff on fully display, while her beau rocked loose-fitting navy pants and a white t-shirt.

He also wore a backwards cap and carried a plaid over shirt, while Sasha completed her look with an array of sparkling necklaces and a multi-colored purse.

The pair couldn't stop smiling as they made their way to their car in Los Angeles, California.

He was also close friends with Ian Alexander Jr. – the only son of Powell's Ray co-star Regina King, who tragically took his own life in January at age 25.

The couple are believed to have gotten together after Sasha moved to Los Angeles - where he is based - last August, after dropping her studies at the University of Michigan and switching to a course at University of Southern California. 

They kept their romance under wraps until they were spotted together earlier this week, after which DailyMail.com exclusively revealed his identity.

Clifton Jr., who goes by the nicknames 'Cliff' and 'CP3,' attended Village Christian High School in the San Fernando Valley – a private school that charges $28,340 a year and offers 'an excellent Christian education.' 

According to its mission statement, the school focuses on making religion a central part of students' lives.

On Tuesday - one day after Sasha and Clifton Jr. were seen together in Los Angeles - former First Lady Michelle Obama hinted at her daughter's love life during an appearance on the Ellen Show.

When asked how Sasha and her older sister, Malia Obama, were doing, she told the host, 'They loved the Jonas Brothers. Now they are bringing grown men home. 

'Before it was just, like, pop bands. Now they have boyfriends and real lives.' 

Based on Michelle's comment, it appears that Clifton Jr. has already met Sasha's mom - although it is not known if he has been introduced to the former president yet. 

Sasha's older sister, Malia, 23, has been dating Brit Rory Farquharson since meeting him at Harvard in 2017. 

Farquharson, for his part, was brought up in a six-bedroom $2.2m home in Suffolk and attended posh Rugby School. 

President Barack, 60, has been welcoming of Malia's boyfriend - who stayed at the family's Washington D.C home during lockdown in 2020.

The former first lady said: 'I listened to what my mother said when she was raising us. She said, "I'm not raising babies, I'm raising real people to be out in the world." And I kept that in mind with the girls.

'I mean, they wouldn't always be in that bubble of the White House, so they had to learn to make their beds. They had to learn how to drive.

'They had to learn how to be compassionate, independent, responsible people so that they entered the world as responsible, compassionate, capable people. And I think they are amazing young women because of that.'
