Have enjoyed City Barbecue catered at work, and wanted to get some for dinner tonight to avoid cooking and have some to freeze for later. Stopped in and ordered in person: two pounds of brisket and one of pulled pork for takeout. Was surprised to...recieve 3 sandwiches rather than just the meat, as I wanted. I guess the face mask and plexiglass barrier muffled my order. Bummer. I thought I was communicating clearly and he probably thought he was understanding. I should probably hav asked him to repeat the irder back to me. If there is a next time, I’ll probably order online for curbside pickup. I liked the meat and the buns were large and fresh. I received an email that City BBQ now has Pastrami available. I called Grove City location and got most confusing response that they may or may not have Pastrami available as only make one per day??? I ask how much is it per pound, did...not know / no idea. I asked if Mgr would know? She said I am the Manager.More

I ordered through Grub Hub, so my experience might be slightly skewed from others. The biggest issue I had was that I ordered brisket as one of the meals and they ended up being out of stock on it. However, the only way I found...out about it was when my driver showed up to pick up my food. Luckily, all of their meats are already cooked so it was easy for them to put it together but it was still a little frustrating. Everything tasted good though. We ended up getting pulled pork, fries, mac and cheese and beans. It was a ton of food. The sauces they sent with the driver weren't labelled, so we had to do some taste testing to sort all that out. Not the end of the world, but it would be nice if they had some little stickers to identify the sauces.More

Stopped in the area for lunch while driving through Ohio. Wow - much better than we thought it would be! They have three large smokers on the side of the building - even saw them loading fresh wood into the smokers. We had the pulled...pork (excellent) with 2 sides - Sweet Vinegar Slaw (superb) and Mac & Cheese (very good). My husband also ordered "One Bone" of the ribs - wow - so good we got a 1/2 rack to go to take to friends we were going to visit in Indiana. Definitely will stop here again when traveling through!More

Needed a quick lunch and this place really filled the bill (and us) very nicely! As a chain, there must be a formula to repeat success. Evidently, this chain has the formula of serving good food at a great price and have a staff that...can do it right and make people feel welcome. I had to try the smoked turkey and it was just smoky enough and still very moist. The baked beans with a little bit of brisket were a sure hit. My wife had some good looking pulled pork and her green beans with bit of left over shoulder meat were quite tasty. There are not run of the mill BBQ joint green beans--these are the big flat Italian style beans and they hold well against the strong flavors of BBQ.More

The smoked turkey and pulled pork were very good with a huge variety of sauces as we available. The side dishes need help. Nothing was bad but rather uninspired. Collard Greens, Mac & Cheese, Corn Bread were average at best. I will go back because...of the meat and I will try other sides. I hope they are better.More

I ordered deed brisket sandwich and baked beans and potato salad I've eaten here twice before and really really liked it you walk up to the counter to order and pay I like the ribs

My husband travels to the Columbus area a few times a year for business and he makes a point of stopping here every single time he's in the area. When we were in the area on vacation- he made sure we stopped for lunch. I'm...not a big fan of barbecue, so I wasn't thrilled at the prospect. I was wrong. The food was fantastic. I had the pulled chicken sandwich, everyone else went for pulled pork. Sides- fries, mac and cheese, vinegar slaw, corn-something or other- looked like a scoop of casserole- all good. Honestly- next time I'd skip the sandwich and just go for the meat. (You can get it on a bun or just on a plate.) Don't bother with the bun- spend the calories on the meat and sauces. (There are bottles of sauces on every table- the 'fire' sauce was a little kicky, not overly sweet. perfect.More

I placed an online order as I have done many times. But this time when I arived there was no one at the pick up register. There was a young lady putting silverware away and could not find the person who was working the register....So she tried to help me until the lady running the register came back. Then she scolded the person trying to help me and told her that there was another group ahead of me. Well there was no one in line or at that register when I arrived. Then she pulled their order from the register and completed it and finally started on mine. She was unfriendly and very disorganized. I was there for 30 min waiting on an order that should have been ready when I arrived. I assume this person is a manager which makes it worse as she did not have a uniform and was in jeans. And if she was a manager she would have a hard time keeping good people that are trying to be customer focused and getting in trouble in front of a customer. If this would have been my first visit it most likely would have been my last.More

I don't care for it. The BBQ isn't anything special and is usually pretty fatty; I end up picking out a quarter of my meal. A little pricey for the lackluster taste.

Food is delicious!!! We love their BRISKET! And their beans have chunks of brisket too! The corn pudding & potato salad is great. And I would go there just for their SWEET TEA! We LOVE City BBQ!! 👍👍
