I brought my father to the ER for internal bleeding after a polypectomy and was very unhappy with the lack of attention or communication that he was getting. His nurse seemed to have no clue why we were there or what was happening. My mother also had trouble like other reviewers mentioned, about the phone ringing and not being answered, so I wanted to share the correct number where you can reach the ER nurses station: 302-733-1700

It seems like we were admitted during the "party shift" and then another nurse took over . Nurse Jackie was on the ball, and shared lots of info. My dad felt ok letting me leave for the night once she was on duty, so thank you to nurse Jackie!

Were in 2024 and Christiana hospital doesn't have an open MRI they should be ashamed of themselves cause they either pocketed the money or used it for something useless I don't understand I'm going to have to move to get an open MRI done cause Delaware is a joke ‍‍‍

An exceptional hospital, staffed by caring, competent, compassionate people. The staff went out of their way to provide care and information. The surgical waiting area was handled by a saint, Valerie, who was exceptional in providing status and support. Staff member would stop to ask if I needed anything. Top notch care.

Patient Realtions is not working for the families they make nice and act like they are sympathetic
to families. They WORK FOR THE HOSPITAL and attempt to buffer your serious complaints.

2nd time reporting ER to them in 2 weeks.
2 wonderful nurses KELLIE and RACHEL in the mist of absolute dysfunctional hospital. Attending Doctor said a few lines then said her time was up. We knew NOTHING from any attending in OVER 24 hours. Can't call because phone rings and then disconnects you. She gave us 2 mins cause her shift was over already she clearly had to make known like she was doing extra. WOW
Patient never was given food from 6pm prior night til family arrived at 2pm (with food)- no order in place for NPO. When I queries were made.to nurse and patient relations complaint was answering email no one wanted to even entertain the actually issue. Dancing around was a med given or not...nurse said yes then quickly returned to say no however explain a level rising ONLY if that med is given. Unbelievable back to back experiences.

Do NOT go to this ER if you need urgent treatment. The nurses spend more time on their phones sitting at the nurses station than they do treating patients and their attitudes towards the patients is appalling!! If you can make it to another hospital, do it - it might just save your life!!

I wish I had read the reviews before my aortic valve replacement surgery. My valve dehisced after approximately 130 days, thus requiring a second redo surgery 137 days after the first one. The second surgery failed in the same amount of time... Luckily, I was transferred to Penn Medicine for the 3rd surgery, which was very extensive due to the damage that was inflicted. 3 open heart surgeries in 9 months. 137 days in between 1st and second surgeries and 138 days in between 2nd and 3rd surgeries...Valve dehiscence occurs in less than 1% of aortic valve replacement patients.

I am extremely disappointed with the communication between Doctors, nurses and then I he misguided information to patients families. I have a 4 year old daughter who just wanted to see her grandmother for 5 minutes to give her a hug and was rejected today. sometimes patients just need a hug from their grandchildren to help them pull through. The communication is unbelievably off. We are told one thing by a nurse and a Dr on one day and then another nurse and Dr the next morning. I had to also correct them as they had my mother on a do not resuscitate. My mother clearly stated that she is all for bringing back to life as long as she wasn't being kept alive and in a vegetated state on a machine. I am so happy my mom is out of this place and into a rehab faci. She was in for cardiac heart failure.

This is my second Saturday visiting someone here. And I found this place to be very comforting. It's a very clean place. The staff is very friendly and does a good job with patience. From what I've seen the patients get good care. The staff is always in and out of the patient's rooms checking on them. When you are laying in a hospital bed helpless. You can only hope you're getting good care when there are no visitors there to look after you. In Christiana Care I believe the patients are in good medical caring hands.

Sister in law was sent there. She was left in a wheelchair uncomfortably for many hours. Someone came in and stole her glasses and cell phone. She called and nobody came for a long time to assist her. She could not see the TV, when the TV went bad they did not care to help her with it. She was on medicare/medicaid and it seemed like she got poor care.
