The First Oriental Market in Winter Haven comes highly recommended, and my recent experience solidifies its reputation as a go-to spot for authentic Asian cuisine and groceries. Following a wave of positive feedback, I decided to place an order for egg rolls for a Year of the Dragon celebration at work. The service was impeccable, with the egg rolls prepared hot and ready for pickup at the agreed time, demonstrating their commitment to customer satisfaction.
We ordered from their menu the night before the event. The beef pho was aromatic and flavorful. spring rolls were fresh. A unique find was the sweet waffle filled with cheese - a delightful fusion that balanced sweetness and savory in every bite. Their selection of drinks offered a refreshing treat.
What sets First Oriental Market apart is not just its mini menu but also the convenience of shopping for groceries while you wait. The market presents an opportunity to explore and try new products, making each visit a chance to discover something exciting. Whether you're picking up a quick meal or shopping for unique ingredients, First Oriental Market in Winter Haven is a gem that caters to both your dining and grocery needs with excellence and variety.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Jun 27, 2023Previous reviewFirst time trying these drinks and I am hooked. The coconut was wonderful and refreshing on a hot day. The staff/owners were so nice and explained all of it. It's located inside the store to the right. Walk around and try some new food too.

I've been in once before to grab noodles, vegetables, and other goods. I stocked up on soba, udon, and ramen noodles at a great price!
Their produce is fresh and has lasted a long time, but I can't say the same for their kimchi. Although it was store made, I didn't think to check it before purchasing. As soon as I took it home, I realized it was compromised because of the sliminess. According to what what I read online, it's still safe to eat, but the texture would be ruined and I was too grossed out.
As for the boba, it's really disappointing. Way too much sugar and artificial flavor. Better off driving to a place closer to Orlando or Lakeland.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Daniela A.Miami, FL28070102Mar 1, 2024

I've read so many reviews from this place that I had to check it out even if it meant from driving out of town. I was in need of some Asian sauces and spices I thought great we could try some good food and also get some groceries. The food was great minus the fact that we had to wait extremely long. People that put their orders in after us had their food prepared first. I spent over $100 between food and groceries to come home and realize everyone grocery I purchased was expired. I will not go back. Very disappointed at the money I wasted. These sauces are not cheap. And beware they tag the prices on top of the expiration date. Most of the reviews were for their hot food which was good but pay attention for expiration dates when buying groceries.

Love their Thai tea and the Korean cheese waffles, oh and bao buns. You can't go wrong with any of the prepared food. The staff is fast and efficient, what you would expect for an Asian market.

We enjoyed this place thoroughly. What we loved: cheesy waffle, egg rolls, bao buns, king baos, chicken sandwich, strawberry boba. We have eaten there many times since discovering!

I've tried to eat here twice within the same week. Both times they were closed but their hours posted say they were open. However the store part is very organized.

Wanted to try a new place for boba tea. The cups are really cute but the tea wasn't great and the boba was overcooked so it was mushy. They lady also asked if we wanted extra add-ins not saying there was an up charge so that rang our bill up but she was nice still.

Delicious! Worth the drive to check out this amazing place! They have an amazing selection of grocery items for purchase. Delicious teas, milk teas (with boba), but also food! The Korean corn dogs are amazing as well as the Bahn Mi (we had the pork). Highly recommend!

Great Asian Market and Vietnamese hot food to go spot. The aisles are narrow but well-stocked--Japanese, Thai, Vietnamese, Indian, Phillipino & Chinese items galore. Nice candy aisle, great beer & wine imports, cold case with unique drinks (basil seed water? flavored coconut milk? Most food items have English instructions. Prices are reasonable (but some high based on being imported). They have a hot food bar where they prepare bao buns, dumplings, stir fries, noodles, egg rolls (changes). They have a dozen specialty drinks--the Vietnamese coffee was delicious. Trying the red bean tea next. Others love the bobas. Don't miss the frozen boba brown sugar fudgecicles! Everything I've had is delicious, hot, flavorful & fairly priced. There is no seating area.
