Senior: My journey at West Career and Technical Academy contained many bumps that shaped me for college. I am better prepared to balance school with work and extracurriculars. WCTA has shaped me to be more outgoing and to pursue profitable opportunities. WCTA presented me with many opportunities to investigate my future career. After concluding almost four courses in the Biomedical Science program, I discovered I desired to continue with the medical route. West Tech authorized me to grow past the limits and put me in a exemplary direction to succeed in life. The only fault of WCTA is the limit on taking classes from other programs as an elective. Senior: The four years I have been going to this school it has been a blast. Most of the teachers are so nice and everyone is supportive in their own and unique ways of understanding life issues when they happen. The safety at LVA is debatable considering it is in the middle of downtown near the strip, I would say the only thing I would like to change is build gates all the way through so kids feel safer and strangers aren't just walking through campus not knowing what they may have. Sophomore: I am a sophomore at Veterans Tribute Career & Technical Academy, and this is my second year at the school. So many unique opportunities flood through our doors, giving students real-world experience in any desired career field. VT prepares you to be the best you can be academically, socially, and physically, with faculty that only want to see you succeed. We learn the values of respect, integrity, and discipline in our school, and develop confidence in public speaking. We are involved with our community partners and are fortunate to get to work with our local agencies. Senior: In my experience, the administration is generally very kind and understanding to those in poor situations, every time I have talked to my counselor about a certain need for medical or personal purposes, they have been extremely accommodating to my needs and have been more than helpful about everything they can be. Every here and there are some rule-sticklers that are a little less accommodating but overall the staff is wonderful. The teachers all clearly like their jobs and from what I can tell the work culture is amazing. There is very little trouble with drugs or weapons, significantly less of a problem than literally any other high school I know of. The students are almost all very kind and the student involvement is rich. Senior: I'm more than grateful for my time at Southwest Career and Technical Academy. From the people I met along the way, to the teachers who supported me and the valuable knowledge I learned, I'm never taking that for granted. However, there were more than a few things I had issues with. The first one is them not having any sports. Ever since I heard about Southwest I questioned why they never used some of the money that they're allegedly using for their programs and put some into sports. This leads me to my next point, the programs. I'm in the engineering program and I can confidently say that I learned more about engineering from my calculus class this year alone than the four years I spent in the program. There are a few good programs, such as nursing, dental, automotive, and fashion design, but in my humble opinion, the rest are mediocre at best.... Read 861 reviews

Senior: The best parts of Spring Valley was certainly the international baccalaureate program they have. However, it felt unorganized at some points with various faculty members resigning through important parts of the IB process. Additionally, there is certainly a drug problem in the school even with additional security, along with multiple fights throughout the school year. The Spring Valley faculty however seem to have put more incentives in alleviating the violence in the school and how students treat each other. Senior: East Career Technical Academy is an amazing school. This school has more of a college school vibe than a high school vibe. The teacher and administration trust the students and give them a ton of freedom. However, because this school doesn't have any sport we tend to lack school spirit. But to make up for this we have our school traditions. For example Senior Project Celebration Day and Titan Tournament. These are some of our celebratory days that take up the whole day where we celebrate students. Imagine field day back in elementary. This school is full of smart respectful kids. This school does an amazing job at getting kids to be more outgoing and comfortable in whatever job they want to enter. They have amazing resources that help you get connected with the real world. For example, mock interviews, or field trips that revolve around student internships. This school does an amazing job of preparing kids for the future.
