The Bridgerton world is one of romance and passion. But it’s also about family. All those meddlesome mamas wouldn’t be so obsessed with the marriage mart if the power of the ton didn’t come from the strength of bloodlines and promise of continuing a lineage through children.

Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story, premiering May 4, digs into that theme when young Queen Charlotte (India Amarteifio) joins the ranks of the bluest bloods of them all — England’s royal family — as she marries young King George (Corey Mylchreest). You’ll come to find the king and queen (played by James Fleet and Golda Rosheuvel in the Regency era) have quite the sprawling brood of children to show for their love story.

Ahead of Queen Charlotte’s debut, meet the royal children by taking a peek at their family tree. And explore the rest of the ton’s most illustrious families with guides to the Danburys and the Bridgertons.

The royal family
Family tree: Queen Charlotte, King George, Princess Augusta, Adolphus

Meet the clan at the very top of the ton in the Bridgerton universe. The rulers of England — and the social stratosphere.

Princess Augusta

A woman who, like Queen Charlotte, married into the royal family. Princess Augusta is the mother of King George and the wife of the late Prince Frederick, who died before ever ascending the throne.

Queen Charlotte

The leading lady of Queen Charlotte and England’s ultimate discerning matriarch. While Queen Charlotte reigns over the United Kingdom, she hails from the territory of Mecklenburg-Strelitz. Queen Charlotte would have 15 children in her lifetime.

King George

Queen Charlotte’s king and the most powerful man in England. He is as mysterious as he is handsome, and was raised to be royal.

Adolphus

Queen Charlotte’s older brother and a royal himself in the territory of Mecklenburg-Strelitz.

Prince Regent George

The first son of Queen Charlotte and King George, whose royal title gives the Bridgerton era its Regency name.

The royal children

The rest of King George and Queen Charlotte’s children, in descending order: Prince Frederick, Prince William, Princess Charlotte, Prince Edward, Princess Augusta, Princess Elizabeth, Prince Ernest, Prince Augustus, Prince Adolphus, Princess Mary, Princess Sophia.

Princess Adelaide

The new wife of Prince William.

Princess Victoria

The new wife of Prince Edward, who eventually shares exciting news with Queen Charlotte.

Princess Charlotte Augusta

The only daughter of Prince Regent George and his wife Princess Caroline. A shining hope for the future of the royal family whose death ignites Queen Charlotte’s royal “baby race” in the Regency era.

King George may be a royal, but he’s also a man in need of friendship. Enter Reynolds, King George’s longtime footman and confidant.

Brimsley

While Brimsley isn’t a nobleman himself, the palace would be in shambles without him. Brimsley is Queen Charlotte’s right-hand man.

A shrewd and formidable family in the Bridgerton universe’s aristocracy. Queen Charlotte reveals their origin story.

One of the sharpest women in the ton. Lady Agatha is the wife of Lord Danbury and a mother of four. By the Regency era, she’s also a maternal figure to Duke Simon Basset following the death of his own biological mother.

Lord Danbury

The husband of Lady Agatha, who wishes to be recognized for his status.

Dominic Danbury

The oldest son of Lord and Lady Danbury’s children, and the heir of the family.
