Contractor dies during workplace accident in Clarksburg

CLARKSBURG, W.Va. — A contractor has died following an excavator accident in Clarksburg.

It happened just after 2:30 p.m. Thursday at a demolition site on East Main Street.

The City of Clarksburg confirmed on its Facebook page said the man who died was a contract employee from Empire Builders.

The victim was identified as Wayne Blanchard, 75, of Parkersburg.

 

The Clarksburg Police Department, Clarksburg Fire Department, Harrison County EMS and the West Virginia Medical Examiner all responded to the incident.

The contractors working on the site were hired by the City of Clarksburg.
