Great Meduim-Warmth Comforter For The Money

I ordered this comforter to replace one that I had been using for several years. My old comforter had sewn baffles that measured about 12" square and required constant fluffing to redistribute the down. This new comforter's baffles are about 6" square and the down remains evenly distributed without any fluffing. I ordered a California King so that it would cover a bit better on my standard king bed and it is just about perfect. For those expecting this to be super think and fluffy, that is not something you will find anywhere for less than about $600, and only with an extreme warmth rating. This comforter will fluff up to about a two-inch thickness by placing it in your large-capacity dryer for about 15-20 minutes on the fluff cycle. If you are looking for an economical, good quality, medium-warmth down comforter, this will fit the bill very nicely. If you want a luxurious, super thick comforter, save your money and order from a high-end seller.

Soft and warm, however...

I purchased this comforter for my daughter. I shopped around in many department stores and didn't want to pay department store prices. This seemed to be priced right for me. In fact, I believed that I was getting a smoking deal. Now the review...the comforter is really soft, it says 1200 thread count (really?? maybe??). I really thought that the it was going to be heavier (750 fp, 50 oz is not as heavily filled than I believed it would be).
So at first I was a bit disappointed. Once I put it on the bed and my daughter got a chance to sleep with it, she claims she likes it. She says it keeps her toasty warm. Hey as long as it works for her, thats all i need. SO, when you pull out your order from the shipping box, don't get worked up thinking you just got taken because it seems so flimsy. Give it chance, and you will probably end up liking it the end.

I bought the king size version of this comforter as a midweight comforter big enough for two twin beds pushed together. It's my first goose down comforter and I was surprised how thin it was (compared to the cotton stuffed comforters I'd had til then.) But it is much, much warmer than any of the cotton/poly-filled comforters I had in the past, regardless of thickness. I put it inside a thin duvet cover and that cooled it down enough for use in fall. It is very soft and would work fine without a duvet cover. Haven't been poked by any goose feathers yet, but I've only had it for a couple days.
