Please remember that Herpes Simplex I is the oral type. About 95% of people have it, but most don’t break out in blisters unless their immune system is compromised. It has NOTHING to do with Herpes Simplex II, the sexually transmitted virus. About 25% of people in the US have it. All it takes is one interaction to spread this disease. You can’t tell if someone has had 1 sexual enciunter or 100 encounters., so no judgement on how slutty people are or aren’t .
Please use condoms (although they sometimes don’t work). Don’t take ANYONE’S word that they are disease.-free. Many people are asymptomatic and don nt realize they are carriers. Get yourself checked out. Childbirth is exceptionally dangerous if the woman has HSV II and is having an outbreak, but NO problems with HSVI.

Wow I must admit I am surprised by the list of RESPONSES as opposed to the individuals. Come on guys, seriously? Do you really think any of these ladies actually wanted herpes or the stigma that’s associated with it? Fact is, herpes could happen to anyone. It’s enough all of these poor individuals had to deal with the traumatic experience of finding out they were diagnosed with it, now not to mention insensitive people making harsh judgments about them. Leave these ladies alone!! I have two very good girl friends of mine that found out they had it and they are both GOOD PEOPLE. Bad things do happen to good people. Living with herpes is not a life ender, just a life changer. You should all educate yourselves and show some compassion to any good person that gets this disease as opposed to bashing them and passing judgment on them.

At least half the population has herpes. Lots of people got it from their parents when they were kids. Medications for herpes are the same as for chicken pox or shingles as well.
