Theo Jackson MIN DB
Vikings' Theo Jackson: Participating in OTAs
5h agoJackson (toe) took part in OTAs on Tuesday, Craig Peters of the Vikings' official site reports.
Jackson missed the final two games of 2023 with a toe issue, but he appears to have fully recovered from the injury and was participating in drills Tuesday with fellow safeties Harrison Smith and Josh Metellus. Jackson logged 381 snaps -- 123 on defense, 258 on special teams -- over 15 games last season, recording 21 tackles (14 solo) and one interception. He re-signed with Minnesota on a one-year, $985,000 contract in February.
-
Ed Ingram MIN OG
Vikings' Ed Ingram: Back for OTAs
5h agoIngram (shoulder) participated in the Vikings' OTA practice Tuesday, Craig Peters of the team's official site reports.
Ingram missed the Vikings' regular-season finale after sustaining a shoulder injury in Week 17 against the Packers. The 2022 second-round pick out of LSU appears fully recovered from the injury and is slated to be the starting right guard for Minnesota for 2024.
-
Jonah Jackson LAR OG
Rams' Jonah Jackson: Limited in OTAs
6h agoHead coach Sean McVay said Tuesday that Jackson (knee) participated in individual drills during OTAs, Adam Grosbard of The Orange Country Register reports.
Jackson sustained a minor meniscus tear in the Lions' divisional-round playoff win over the Buccaneers that forced him out of the NFC Championship Game against the 49ers. He signed with the Rams on a three-year, $51 million deal in March, and McVay noted that Jackson is expected to participate in 11-on-11 drills at some point during the offseason.
-
Claudin Cherelus CAR LB
Panthers' Claudin Cherelus: Participating in OTAs
6h agoCherelus (knee) was on the field for OTAs on Monday, Joseph Person of The Athletic reports.
Cherelus was placed on IR on November 3 due to a knee injury, causing him to miss the Panthers' last 10 regular-season games. He played in six games for Carolina in 2023, and he did not record a stat across 105 snaps on special teams.
-
Dante Stills ARI DT
Cardinals' Dante Stills: Participating in OTAs
6h agoStills (knee) was on the field for OTAs on Monday, per the Cardinals' official site.
Stills ended last season on the IR due to a knee injury. The 2023 sixth-round pick finished his rookie season with 47 tackles (18 solo), including 3.5 sacks, and one fumble recovery over 15 games while playing 508 snaps on defense.
-
Wes Schweitzer NYJ OG
Jets' Wes Schweitzer: Back on field for OTAs
6h agoSchweitzer (calf) was on the field for OTAs on Monday, per the Jets' official site.
Schweitzer landed on the IR twice last season due to the same calf injury, but he now appears to be fully recovered. The 2016 sixth-round pick has primarily spent his career at guard, but multiple injuries led to Schweitzer playing across the offensive line, including at center.
-
Gavin Hardison MIA QB
Dolphins' Gavin Hardison: Participating in OTAs
7h agoHardison (elbow) was a full participant at the Dolphins' organized training activities Monday, Hal Habib of the Palm Beach Post reports.
Hardison had an elbow injury when he signed with Miami as an undrafted free agent in April. The UTEP product's health appears to be up to par, and he will now move forward looking to make an impression at OTAs. He is presumably competing with Skylar Thompson for the No. 3 option under center behind Tua Tagovailoa and Mike White.
-
Will Levis TEN QB
Titans' Will Levis: Moves past foot issue
11h agoLevis (foot) participated in 7-on-7 drills during Tuesday's OTA session.
Back in February, Levis -- who was slowed by a foot injury late last season -- relayed that he was close to 100 percent at that time. At this stage, the second-year QB appears to have put the issue behind him, and on Tuesday Levis got in some work with the Titans' top wideouts, a group that includes free-agent additions Calvin Ridley and Tyler Boyd, along with returnees DeAndre Hopkins and Treylon Burks. With veteran RyanTannehill no longer in the mix, Levis approaches the coming season as the team's clear-cut top QB, backed up by Mason Rudolph and Malik Willis. During his rookie season, the Kentucky product completed 149-of-255 passing attempts for 1,808 yards with eight touchdowns and four interceptions in nine starts.
-
Tim Boyle HOU QB
Texans' Tim Boyle: Needs stitches
13h agoBoyle suffered a cut on his finger during OTAs on Monday, which required stitches, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
Boyle suffered the injury while taking a snap during practice and is expected to miss about a week, according to Wilson. The veteran quarterback is working to earn a spot on the Texans' QB depth chart and is competing with Davis Mills and Case Keenum for a spot.
-
Justin Herbert LAC QB
Chargers' Justin Herbert: Hot start to OTAs
16h agoHerbert (finger) has impressed early in OTAs during 11-on-11 drills and is already demonstrating a connection with rookie wide receiver Ladd McConkey, Daniel Popper of The Athletic reports.
Herbert looks fully recovered from the finger injury that cost him the final four games of 2023, and after losing both Keenan Allen and Mike Williams (knee) this offseason, it's encouraging to see him already establishing trust with McConkey. Even with new coach Jim Harbaugh installing a run-heavy scheme, Herbert should still provide strong passing numbers working with McConkey and returning wideouts Joshua Palmer and Quentin Johnston. The addition of No. 5 overall pick Joe Alt, who's started at right tackle throughout OTAs, also promises more protection for Herbert, which should ease any adjustment to a new offensive philosophy.
-
Aaron Rodgers NYJ QB
Jets' Aaron Rodgers: No limitations at OTAs, as expected
17h agoCoach Robert Saleh said Tuesday that Rodgers (Achilles) is "doing everything" at OTAs, Andy Vasquez of The Bergen Record reports.
Rodgers was expected to be without restrictions at OTAs, but confirmation that he's been a full participant at practices so far is positive sign for the 40-year-old's recovery. While Rodgers' progress will still need to be monitored until he's resumed handling full contact activities, it's worth noting that he did manage to resume practicing with the Jets down the stretch of the 2023 season.
-
Jacob Sirmon CLE QB
Jacob Sirmon: Let go by Cleveland
1d agoSirmon was waived by the Browns on Monday, Zac Jackson of The Athletic reports.
The quarterback signed with the Browns on May 12 after participating in the team's rookie minicamp. During his final collegiate season at Northern Colorado in 2023, Sirmon completed 56.4 percent of his passes for 1,255 yards, eight touchdowns and nine interceptions.
-
Kyren Williams LAR RB
Rams' Kyren Williams: Foot injury downplayed
10h agoWilliams, who is dealing with a foot injury that he sustained while training this spring, per Adam Grosbard of The Orange County Register, won't take part in the Rams' offseason program, Sarah Barshop of ESPN.com reports.
That said, Barshop adds that coach Sean McVay has downplayed Williams' foot issue, noting that it's "nothing to worry about. He'll be ready to go for training camp." As the coming season approaches, the 2022 fifth-rounder remains atop the Rams' RB depth chart, with rookie third-rounder Blake Corum, Boston Scott, Ronnie Rivers and Zach Evans providing the team with backfield depth. Of the aforementioned backups, Corum could be the most notable threat to the 2024 workload of the 5-foot-9, 194-pound Williams.
-
Josh Jacobs GB RB
Packers' Josh Jacobs: Dealing with hamstring injury
13h agoCoach Matt LaFleur said Tuesday that Jacobs (hamstring) isn't practicing but should return to the field before too long, Matt Schneidman of The Athletic reports.
Jacobs was limited during OTAs on Tuesday, but it doesn't sound like the Packers are too concerned about his health. In the meantime, rookie third-round pick MarShawn Lloyd and returning veteran AJ Dillon will get extra backfield reps until Jacobs is ready to go. Jacobs at least worked on the side Tuesday, per Rob Demovsky of ESPN.com, so he's already getting acclimated to his new offense.
-
Bijan Robinson ATL RB
Falcons' Bijan Robinson: On track for minicamp
16h agoRobinson (ankle) is on schedule to be ready for the start of the veteran minicamp June 10, D. Orlando Ledbetter of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.
Robinson suffered an ankle injury during OTAs last Tuesday, but he's only dealing with a minor issue and will be back on the practice field June 10-12. In the meantime, Tyler Allgeier should take most of the starting reps in the backfield, while rookie Jase McClellan (foot) could benefit from expanded opportunities if he's able to get healthy before Robinson. With Kirk Cousins (Achilles) now at the helm of Atlanta's offense, Robinson will be a popular Year 2 breakout candidate in 2024 fantasy drafts.
-
Jonathan Ward PIT RB
Steelers' Jonathan Ward: Inks one-year deal in Pittsburgh
18h agoThe Steelers signed Ward to a one-year contract Tuesday.
Ward handled a depth role across eight regular-season appearances with the Titans in 2023. He'll now get a chance to compete for a similar reserve spot in Pittsburgh, where Najee Harris, Jaylen Warren and Cordarrelle Patterson stand above him on the depth chart.
-
Deuce Vaughn DAL RB
Cowboys' Deuce Vaughn: Could take slot snaps?
2d agoVaughn (ankle) is a candidate to earn more work out of the slot this offseason, Reid Hanson of USA Today reports.
Vaughn only suited up for seven games as a rookie before landing on IR, across which he totaled just 80 yards from scrimmage without a touchdown. Now presumably healthy, the 5-foot-6 running back could have a clearer path to backfield opportunities with Tony Pollard having moved on to Tennessee, even with Ezekiel Elliott now back atop the depth chart. The slot could be a more natural fit for Vaughn, though to emerge as an actual fantasy contributor in Year 2, he'll need to earn more than the occasional designed play.
-
Lamical Perine KC RB
La'Mical Perine: Waived by KC
4d agoPerine was waived by the Chiefs on Friday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
Kansas City is parting ways with Perine after he rushed for 77 yards on 22 carries while adding three catches for 33 yards in 2023. The 2020 fourth-round draft pick of the Jets spent his first two seasons in New York. Perine will look to latch on with another team prior to training camp.
-
Erik Ezukanma MIA WR
Dolphins' Erik Ezukanma: Back on field for OTAs
7h agoEzukanma (neck) participated in OTAs on Tuesday, David Furones of the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports.
Ezukanma played in just two games at the beginning of 2023 before being placed on the reserve/non-football injury list in September due to a neck injury. He was cleared of his injury before the end of last season, and he admitted to reporters Tuesday that he was concerned that he would not be able to play again, per Joe Schad of The Palm Beach Post. Ezukanma has appeared in three regular season games since the Dolphins drafted him in the fourth round of the 2022 NFL Draft, and he will battle for a spot on Miami's wide receiver corps for 2024.
-
Kearis Jackson TEN WR
Titans' Kearis Jackson: Participating at OTAs
11h agoJackson (ankle) practiced Tuesday.
Jackson worked as the Titans' punt returner last season before he suffered a season-ending ankle injury Week 2 against the Chargers. Now healthy, he'll likely be competing with 2024 sixth-round selection, Jha'Quan Jackson for that role this season.
-
Matt Landers CLE WR
Browns' Matt Landers: Finds new opportunity
13h agoLanders signed a contract with the Browns on Tuesday.
Landers joined the Seahawks as a UDFA out of Arkansas last spring and ultimately spent time on their practice squad, as well as Carolina's after Seattle cut him. He'll now get a new opportunity with Cleveland ahead of the 2024 campaign.
-
Mike Williams NYJ WR
Jets' Mike Williams: On side field to start OTAs
17h agoWilliams (knee) has not yet been cleared for football activities and is working on a side field at OTAs on Tuesday, Andy Vasquez of The Bergen Record reports.
Williams went down to a left ACL tear in Week 3 last season while with the Chargers, so he was never a likely candidate to be ready for OTAs. The start of training camp in July could represent a better target for Williams, though the Jets haven't offered an official estimate for his return timeline. On the plus side, Aaron Rodgers (Achilles) is participating in OTAs without any setbacks, so Williams will be able to start building chemistry with his new quarterback as soon as he gains clearance. The big-bodied 29-year-old will complement top wideout Garrett Wilson as the No. 2 option for New York once healthy.
-
Tank Dell HOU WR
Texans' Tank Dell: Participating in OTAs
17h agoDell (leg) is on the field for the start of OTAs on Tuesday with no apparent limitations, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
The wideout sustained a left leg wound as an innocent bystander during a shooting in late April, but Dell's already back on the practice field and running routes and seems to be an unrestricted participant to begin OTAs. The 2023 third-rounder has already recovered from the fibula injury he suffered last December, and he rejoins a wide receiver room that added Stefon Diggs as a trade acquisition and returns Nico Collins, Robert Woods, Noah Brown (shoulder) and John Metchie.
-
Tee Higgins CIN WR
Bengals' Tee Higgins: Not expected for start of OTAs
1d agoHiggins is not expected to sign his franchise tender by the end of the week, which will make him ineligible to report in time for the start of OTAs next week, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
Higgins formally requested a trade from Cincinnati after the team placed the franchise tag on him prior to free agency. He appeared to have a change of heart in April, as the wideout hinted that he anticipated playing for the Bengals in 2024 at his youth camp, per Ben Baby of ESPN.com. It remains to be seen if that will occur via the franchise tag or the long-term extension the pass catcher has been seeking. As of now, it looks like this conflict will linger into OTAs.
-
Jeremy Ruckert NYJ TE
Jets' Jeremy Ruckert: Participating in OTAs
7h agoRuckert (concussion) took part in OTAs on Tuesday, Zack Rosenblatt of The Athletic reports.
Ruckert appeared in the first 15 games for the Jets last season, but he missed the final two contests due to a concussion he sustained in Week 16 against the Commanders. Ruckert served as the backup tight end behind Tyler Conklin, and the former finished the 2023 season with 16 catches on 22 targets for 151 yards while playing 301 snaps on offense and 205 snaps on special teams. Ruckert caught passes from quarterback Aaron Rodgers during seven-on-seven drills Tuesday.
-
Josh Whyle TEN TE
Titans' Josh Whyle: Back on field
11h agoWhyle (knee) participated in OTAs on Tuesday, Jim Wyatt of the Titans' official site reports.
Whyle closed last season on injured reserve, but he was back on the field participating in practice as the Titans held offseason workouts. The 2023 fifth-round selection looked bigger and sturdier than last year, according to Wyatt.
-
Tucker Kraft GB TE
Packers' Tucker Kraft: Out until training camp
12h agoCoach Matt LaFleur said Tuesday that Kraft (pectoral) will be sidelined until at least the start training camp, Zach Kruse of USA Today reports.
LaFleur said Kraft and offensive lineman Zach Tom (pectoral) will both be out until at least the start of training camp, if not longer. The nature of Kraft's injury hasn't yet been disclosed, but he was spotted with his arm in a sling Tuesday and didn't practice. As a rookie, the 2023 third-round pick stepped up nicely in the wake of an injury to Luke Musgrave, also a 2023 draftee. He figures to handle a complementary role in Green Bay's tight end room when healthy.
-
T.J. Hockenson MIN TE
Vikings' T.J. Hockenson: No timetable for return
4d agoHockenson (knee) said "they haven't really put a timeline on it" when asked Wednesday about a potential date for his in-season return to action, Grant Gordon of NFL.com reports.
Hockenson was specifically asked on the NFL Schedule Release '24 show whether he expects to be playing Week 5 versus the Jets in London. The standout tight end said of his recovery from a right ACL and MCL tear he's "kinda taking it day by day, week by week," and that "the progression has been incredible" even though a specific return timetable remains uncertain. Hockenson underwent surgery late January and doesn't seem likely to be ready for Week 1, but Week 5 could be within the realm of possibility. The Vikings have a Week 6 bye, however, so it's possible that a more realistic target for Hockenson's debut could be Week 7 and beyond.
-
Isaac Rex DET TE
Isaac Rex: Sent to waivers
5d agoThe Lions waived Rex on Thursday.
Rex was waived to make room for fellow tight end Sean McKeon. An undrafted rookie out of BYU, Rex will now have to look for an opportunity to compete with another club this offseason.
-
Sean McKeon DET TE
Lions' Sean McKeon: Inks in Detroit
5d agoThe Lions signed McKeon to a contract Thursday.
McKeon suffered an ankle injury last December and was placed on IR after suiting up for nine games with the Cowboys, in which span he failed to secure either of his two targets. He can contribute both on special teams and as a blocker on offense, and McKeon, who's presumably past his ankle issue, now gets a chance to compete for a depth role with Detroit.
-
Graham Gano NYG K
Giants' Graham Gano: Kicking during OTAs
6h agoGano (knee) participated in OTAs on Tuesday, John Schmeelk of the Giants' official site reports.
Gano played in the first eight games of 2023 before landing on the IR in November due to a left knee knee injury that required season-ending surgery. He was back on the field doing kicking drills during OTAs on Tuesday. Gano finished the 2023 season going 11-for-17 on field-goal attempts while making all eight of his extra-point tries.
-
Lucas Havrisik CLE K
Lucas Havrisik: Loses spot
7d agoHavrisik was waived by the Browns on Tuesday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
Havrisik signed a reserve/future contract with Cleveland in January after the Rams waived him. He was expected to at least have the opportunity to compete with Dustin Hopkins (hamstring) and Cade York for the team's kicker job in 2024, but instead, he'll become a free agent once again.
-
Chad Ryland NE K
Patriots' Chad Ryland: Set to compete with veteran kicker
20d agoRyland is slated to face competition from veteran kicker Joey Slye, who is in line to sign with the Patriots, Mark Daniels of masslive.com reports.
A fourth-round pick of the Patriots in the 2023 NFL Draft, Ryland is coming off a rookie campaign in which he made just 64 percent of his field-goal attempts (16 of 25). Though the Maryland product has a strong kicking leg, he'll need to display better accuracy in the coming months in order to hold off the challenge presented by the 28-year-old Slye, who connected on 79.2 percent of his field-goal tries with the Commanders last season.
-
Joey Slye NE K
Patriots' Joey Slye: Gets opportunity with New England
20d agoSlye has agreed to a deal with the Patriots, Mike Reiss of ESPN.com reports.
After being released by the Jaguars earlier this week, it didn't take long for the 28-year-old to catch on with another team. With the Commanders last year, he made 19 of his 24 field-goal tries and 32 of his 35 extra-point attempts across 17 regular-season games. Now that he's with the Patriots, Slye will have an opportunity to compete with 2023 fourth-rounder Chad Ryland, who is coming off an inconsistent rookie campaign for New England.
-
Joey Slye JAC K
Joey Slye: Replaced by rookie
22d agoThe Jaguars released Slye on Tuesday.
Slye inked with Jacksonville as a free agent back in March, but he's now lost his spot on the roster to rookie sixth-round pick Cam Little. Meanwhile, Riley Patterson remains with the Jaguars as potential offseason competition for Little. Slye converted 19 of 24 field-goal tries and 32 of 35 extra-point attempts across 17 games with Washington last season.
-
Harrison Mevis 2005 K
Harrison Mevis: Heading to Carolina
23d agoMevis is slated to sign with the Panthers as an undrafted free agent, Joe Person of The Athletic reports.
Mevis made 24 of 30 field-goal attempts at Missouri last year, including a 61-yard conversion that set an SEC record. He'll now challenge Eddy Pineiro during offseason activities.
-
Theo Jackson MIN DB
-
Claudin Cherelus CAR LB
-
Christian Braswell JAC CB
Jaguars' Christian Braswell: Getting work in
6h agoBraswell (hamstring) participated in OTAs on Tuesday, Jamal Cyr of News4Jax.com reports.
Braswell appeared in three games for the Jaguars last season and logged nine snaps on special teams before landing on the IR in October due to a hamstring injury. Cyr notes that Braswell was participating in drills Tuesday, rotating with Darnell Savage and Jarrian Jones in the secondary.
-
Deonte Banks NYG CB
Giants' Deonte Banks: Taking part in OTAs
7h agoBanks (shoulder) was on the field for OTAs on Tuesday, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports.
Banks missed the last two games of the 2023 season due to a shoulder injury he sustained in Week 16 against the Eagles. The 2023 first-round pick finished his rookie year with 64 tackles (53 solo), 11 passes defended and two interceptions over 15 games. Salomone notes that Banks participated in 11-on-11 drills Tuesday, breaking up two passes.
-
Jevon Holland MIA SAF
Dolphins' Jevon Holland: Back to 100 percent
7h agoHolland told reporters Tuesday that he is fully recovered from the knee injury that kept him out of the playoffs last season, Hal Habib of The Palm Beach Post reports.
Holland missed four games in 2023 due to injuries to both knees. He played the last two games of the regular season, but he was unable to suit up for the Dolphins' wild-card game against the Chiefs. Holland finished with 74 tackles (52 solo), four passes defended, one interception, three forced fumbles and a fumble recovery over 12 regular-season games last year.
