January 22, 2023 Tartans Knockoff #22 WashU 71-58 The Carnegie Mellon University men's basketball team continued University Athletic Association play on Sunday with a 71-58 victory to the 22nd-ranked Bears of Washington University in St. Louis.
January 13, 2023 Carnegie Mellon Upsets #16 Emory 78-71 in Atlanta The Carnegie Mellon University men's basketball team traveled to Atlanta, Georgia on Friday night to play the 16th-ranked Emory University Eagles. The Tartans snapped a 15-game skid to the Eagles with a 78-71 University Athletic Association (UAA) victory.
January 28, 2022 Tartans Topple #3 WashU in Overtime The Carnegie Mellon University men's basketball team topped third-ranked Washington University in St Louis at home on Friday, 71-68, in overtime after leading for all but 44 seconds of regulation. The Tartans are now 9-6 overall and 2-3 in the University Athletic Association (UAA) while the Bears fall for the second time this season and are 14-2 and 4-1.
November 17, 2021 Carnegie Mellon Upends Division II Walsh, 85-79 The Carnegie Mellon University men's basketball team traveled to North Canton, Ohio on Wednesday to play Division II Walsh University in an exhibition contest and defeated the Cavaliers 85-79. The win marks the first for the Tartans over a non-Division III opponent since the 2008-09 season when Carnegie Mellon defeated Indiana University of Pennsylvania.
November 10, 2021 Holmes Ties 64-Year Single-Game Scoring Mark in Carnegie Mellon's 103-102 Overtime Win at La Roche Sophomore R.J. Holmes (Buffalo Grove, Ill./Adlai Stevenson) of the Carnegie Mellon University men's basketball team tied the program's single-game scoring mark with 43 points in a 103-102 overtime win at La Roche University Wednesday night. The Tartans are now 2-1 overall while the Redhawks start the year 0-1.
February 4, 2016 Right on target If it weren’t for social media, Carnegie Mellon junior forward Lisa Murphy might not know she currently leads Division III in scoring and field-goal percentage. If she had her way, she would continue to silently devour the competition.
