Sydney and I were devastated to hear of Jacks passing. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. He was a lot of fun and a joy to be around.

Friend, mentor, know-it-all repair wizard. I was just a spectator, but Jack was a serious, dedicated competitor during the muscle car era. Drag racing wasn't enough, because he also ran in local demolition derby circuit. I remember him driving a car with 'STUDENT DRIVER" labels and signage. The crowd went nuts. What an entertainer! Jack was a down-to-earth, tell-it-like-it-is guy and I will always treasure my time with his family and friends. My deepest sympathies.....thanks for the memories.

This community, the White Lake area has lost a great man. Respected by all. It is an Honor to have known him. He will be missed by all. Rest in Peace Jack.

Jack,
You have been such a large part of the Stojak Family, and essential in our lives in more ways than I think we will immediately know. There was never a child whom you did not inspire, a teenager that you did not motivate, or an adult that you did not guide. You were the voice of reason, a steady soul, an honest voice, and a caring heart for all of us. When there was work to be done you never shied away, when duty called you answered, and when you were most needed you were there. We will miss your friendship, your booming voice, but most of all you.

Where do I start to list all of the great times I had with Jack? Always with a quick smile and a story to tell. The world is a lesser place without him. We shared some great moments in the Guard and laughed like hell when we retold them. He could always be depended on to get the job done; sometimes by less than conventional ways! We just cant believe he is gone. Lulu, Jessica and especially me, will miss him terribly.

This saddens me more than words can express. My condolences to the family. I will remember him fondly and miss his visits into my Secretary of State.

Jack was a great man. Always cheerful, happy, and on the go. I was blessed to have worked with him for a short while, and know he would be embarrassed by all the nice things folks have said. I'm sure he is racing a snowmobile off a cliff to see what happens now....

So sorry to hear of Jacks passing. I always enjoyed our opportunities to interact. We have both been in the federal property program for a long time. He WILL be missed.

My thoughts and prayers go out to the family. I got to know Jack around 2000. I work for GSA and came to Michigan at least once a year to auction off the DNR vehicles. Can not tell you how much fun we had hanging out with Jack and hearing his stories. He will be missed.

Uncle Jack! We did not spend all that much time together, but my family and I got to know Jack as a very special person. So kind, so positive and friendly to young and old. All of us will forever remember the trip to the nicest fire station ever. Here in Norway, we will light a candle for Jack tonight.

Jack, you son of a gun, you weren't supposed to leave us like this. You were likely the best equipment man the DNR Fire program has ever had.
Jack was a great teacher, a great co-worker, and a great friend. I'm sure all of our DNR family will miss Jack just as much as his loving home family. My prayers for Laura and all.

We were saddened to hear the news about Jack. Ron remembers stopping in at the bus garage to shoot the breeze with Jack and Arland. He says he was a good, good guy and had a great sense of humor. Our deepest sympathy Denny and to the whole family.

I always looked forward to when I got to see Jack at work. His attitude and smile were infectious. My deepest condolences to his family and friends. He will be greatly missed by his DNR family and the Michigan firefighting community.

I had the pleasure of working with Jack at the Michigan DNR for the last seven years and will miss him a great deal. We always had a laugh when he was around. It won't be the same now. My condolences to his family.

Your family is in my thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. It was my honor and privilege to serve with Chief "Jack" Schultz in Iraq 04-05, he was both a mentor and a friend. The FMS 16- Yooper Crew have countless memories of great times and endless laughs that we will forever treasure. I had the honor to serve and work with Jack in the National Guards. I always enjoyed working with Jack because he truly cared about his soldiers and country. I will always remember his humor, laughter and smiles. Jack will be missed but never forgotten.

I was surprised and shocked to hear of Jack's passing. I haven't seen Jack for a few years but we served together in the National Guard for a lot of years. I won't be able to attend his service's as we will be out of town during that time. He was a great man and will surely be missed.

I'm so sorry for the loss of Chief.
I was VERY fortunate to do a tour of Iraq, with Chief as our Maintenance Officer. As long as the work was getting done, and our Company of Engineers were able to roll out, and accomplish their missions he was the nicest man you would ever meet. If things were broken, and people didn't do their jobs? I don't know.....the Maintenance Team were so tight, they would NEVER let our equipment be anything other than outstanding! And that..... I believe.... is in part because of the respect everyone shared for this man!
Being the elder statesman of our unit, he could of skated along, and nobody would of thought twice about it. But, that isn't what Chief was about! He was the rare zero that actually led from the front! If any of his troops were at work early, or out late supporting a line platoon outside the wire then Chief was there prior to..... or after his troops were.
I enjoyed the talks that we would all have around 1stSgt Donnie Verschern's fireplace! What great men..... Chief, Donnie V., Ronald Funderburg, Randy Bowman........ it was a true pleasure to sit there, and listen to the stories they could tell!
I know heaven is a lot better off today because greatness has joined their ranks!

Jack had the gift of making everyone around him feel special.I loved the twinkle that always seemed to be in his eyes His joy and appreciation for life was infectious.I remember seeing him dance with his wife,Laura at the 100th anniversary of the summer cottage and thinking wow they have so much joy. What a special man.My guess is that he will soon be dancing in heaven.May the magnificent and pure power Of Jesus bring comfort to you Laura.I love you

Jack was the best! He was the most humble man ever! His personality covered the masses and could talk about everything! He was genuine and will be greatest missed! He leaves a legacy like none other!

So sorry to hear - a tremendous loss to the Michigan fire service. Jacks work with the DNR placed badly needed federal surplus equipment in the hands of Michigan firefighters where it can be used to protect the public. Thank you, Jack, for all the lives youve touched.

So sorry to hear of this loss to our Class of '63. I've known Jack since grade school, remembering him fondly from the Old Channel Trail neighborhood we shared. My sympathy goes out to Linda, Dennis, Bruce and the whole family as you mourn his loss and celebrate his life.

Jack was great to work with. I talked or saw him once in awhile and he always was happy and laughing, enjoying life. You are pain free; worry free; free to fly.

I remember meeting you up at the cottage about 12 years ago. You took Dave and I for a ride in the Jeep, and drove it right into the lake for fun. I remember thinking, wow! he's pretty cool for an old guy! I wish I could have known you longer, but I look forward to the day when we can all see you again.

I only met him a couple times when he would visit Laura at the school. I knew he was a Veteran and that he worked as a fireman. I saw Laura's love for him and knew he was a good man.
It was an honor to meet you, i know you will be greatly missed.

Jack, will treasure the many years of snowmobiling together. You were always ready to help me the many times I needed it.

My Uncle was the busiest man I ever knew and yet he always had time for whoever needed him. He is greatly loved and will be missed by all.
