Detailed Reviews
Came here with some friends and my son for the pokemon regionals - we knew it was hostel and wasn’t going to be anything special.
I opted for a private room with its own bathroom, I couldn’t have dealt with sharing a toilet with other people, this was a good choice.
The bed is hard, there are a couple of suspect stains on the mattress, the chairs are like something from prison 🤣 but it was actually better than expected, decently clean, somewhere to rest our heads after a long day.
The main reception and chill out areas were nice, plenty of space, allowed us to order in food and eat there,
If visiting Lille I would defo stay here again if it was just somewhere to sleep.

Great location for exploring this beautiful city just 5 minutes walk from the metro. Clean comfy, if basic rooms. Friendly staff. We will definitely be using again and I would recommend as a base for groups visiting Lille.

I stayed here for one night on an educational trip, and I was expecting it to be worse than it was. However, this place is actually alright! Here are some pros and cons:
Pros:
- Breakfast was very nice!
-The common areas were very stylish, comfortable and chic
- Staff were friendly
- They were eco-conscious
- The pillow was good, and the blanket was warm
-The lockers were decent
Cons:
- There was no toilet in the room, just a shower that wasn’t working properly
- There was no hand soap in the room, and floor 3’s toilets had no sinks.
- The walls were painted a rather neon orange colour, and it felt slightly prison like
- There were a few stray strands of hair around the room. But they weren’t out to get us, so it was fine
- The lights looked like CCTV cameras, slightly strange design choice!
- A few odd stains could be found on the mattresses!
All in all, it was an adequate hostel stay!

Compared to other hostels I've stayed in this ranks by far the highest. Staff were friendly and welcoming, rooms and toilets clean, bar always busy and good value, and the price is extremely reasonable. 5 minute walk from the metro, or half hour stroll into town. Shops close by. Breakfast included, which was a surprise! Brilliant.
One thing to note, wifi doesn't work in rooms (we were third floor), but quick enough in the lobby/social area downstairs.

I stayed in this super modern hostel 4 times this summer. Every time I arrived, it was like seeing old friends again. The staff were super friendly and went out of their way to help with any questions and advice. The rooms are spotlessly clean and the showers are superb! The breakfast is very comprehensive, with a superb selection of cheese and cold meats. The baguettes are bakery fresh and the coffee is actually very good.
Be sure to sample some of their Belgian beers at the bar – superb quality and price. Freshly brewed coffee is only 80c…
The free Wi-Fi is super fast (but best used downstairs).
NOTE, if you arrive to Lille Flanders station, getting the metro from there is only 80c (up to 3 stop fare) to metro Porte de Valenciennes station. Exit the metro stop in the direction that you came from (North) and you should see a sign in the metro stop saying “auberge de jeunesse” – its only 3 minutes walk from there – Ignore Google Maps, as it has it in the wrong place!

This is a large, clean youth hostel that is very close to the subway stop "Porte de Valenciennes," making it easy to get anywhere in Lille.
The only downside is that the WiFi only works in the downstairs lobby, not in the rooms.

Me and my fiancee had the unfortunate experience of staying in this souless place this week. Hoping for a romantic weekend in Lille we were in a budget so thought this place looked good. The room was painted white with stark lighting which made it look more like a dentists surgery. The shower was freezing and we couldn't have a double bed just 3 bunk beds! It was very expensive compared to other places and on the second night we thankfully found a beautiful hotel which was the same price but a world apart. Avoid this place at all costs! Bloody awful!

I arrived two hours after calling ahead to book a bed. I had been planning to travel to Namur instead, but thankfully AdJ de Lille was able to accommodate me as Lille is a lovely city I had not been to before. I was given a great welcome by a staff member who also talking me through the sights of Lille with a complementary map and helped me find my way around the hostel. Drinks at reception are very cheap and free wi-fi is available on the ground floor.
