Audience Member Not only a fascinating history of the musical A Chorus Line, but an insightful look at the audition process. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 02/27/23 Full Review Audience Member A perfect companion piece to watching A Chorus Line takes you behind the scenes of the 2006 revival casting process. It's about the trials and tribulations of casting a show about the trials and tribulations of casting a show. Expertly told combination of the original casting process and the origins of the show combined with this setting of the revival from open auditions to the final casting call. I defy you not to want to watch the show afterwards, though you may have to settle for the inferior film. My only complaint is that it focuses mostly on the female roles. The guys are barely featured. This is meta cinema squared. Great documentary. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/24/23 Full Review Audience Member It's hard for me to fully empathize since I am the one sibling to have NEVER had the balls, guts, or idiotic thoughts to perform on stage. But I have had plenty of friends and family throughout the years that have found themselves on stage. This film is really about them and their journey. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 02/14/23 Full Review Audience Member A documentary that really takes the audience along for the ride. You become so emotionally invested in these people as they audition for A Chorus Line on Broadway. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/09/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating

Michael Koresky Film Comment Magazine Every Little Step, like A Chorus Line itself, should prove catnip for any self-respecting, self-flagellating actor-dancer. Oct 20, 2014 Full Review Keith Uhlich Time Out There's a terribly interesting story behind the creation of the musical phenom A Chorus Line, but don't look to this confused and often self-congratulatory documentary to tell it. Rated: 2/6 Nov 16, 2011 Full Review Jonathan F. Richards Film.com It's all up there on the screen in this impassioned, exhilarating documentary. They want to dance for you. It's what they did for love. Aug 23, 2009 Full Review Kelly Jane Torrance Washington Times These stories of struggle, leading to triumph or defeat, are what make Every Little Step so fascinating. They're also the film's weakness - we only get a taste of who these people are and how they came to be here. Rated: 3/4 Dec 7, 2018 Full Review David D'Arcy Screen International The documentary, edited down from some 400 hours, is packed with crowd-pleasing moments. Dec 16, 2009 Full Review James Plath Movie Metropolis Like the dancers themselves, this documentary has heart. Rated: 8/10 Oct 25, 2009 Full Review Read all reviews
