This wonderful activity features a template for a book review, in three different versions: one with wide lines, one with narrow lines, and a blank version for children to use depending on their needs. There's plenty of room to write a comprehensive book review for kids to share with you, and the rest of the class.
These templates for books reviews are also decorated with lovely hand-drawn illustrations to add a splash of colour - there's a pile of books and children enjoying their reading. Once they are complete they will look wonderful up on the wall as part of a literacy display to show off children's hard work.
If you like this template for book reviews, then we have a whole host of other resources that can be used alongside this one. Here are some of our favourites:
Why not try this Book Review Writing Frame as an alternative activity? It uses questions such as 'What is the book about' and 'What did you like about this book?' to guide children's writing.
For a more challenging activity, how about this In-Depth Non-Fiction Template for a Book Review? It features different sections to write down your children's favourite facts, and new vocabulary and definitions.
Or you could check out this Book Review Writing Checklist, which includes a list of things for children to remember to include in their book review.
Each one of these fabulous resources is created by teachers, for teachers and home educators.
What's more, we know how time-consuming it can be to source interesting and engaging activities to keep your teaching fresh, so that's why we have done some of the work for you. All resources are really easy to download and print as many times as you need to, saving you lots of time when planning your lessons.
